My compliments to the director to make with a very low budget ( I guess) this movie. With light and just a minimal decor he builds a good set.
However the acting is horrible, with some kind of Eastern Europe accent. The dialogs sound unnatural and the whole movie unfortunately turns into a school play of the 3th grade

For starters, why in earth do the actors speak english with a very bad german accent. That fact alone makes it unwatchable. I think that if the movie was spoken in german, it would have been way better to watch. The story an sich is not badly told but the actors lack charisma.

This film had bad acting, bad accents. The storyline was weak and lacked a sense of direction. The film was too short. I wouldn't recommend it

There are quite a few low budget World War 2 films and for some reason, they all feel the same... regardless of Country or Origin, Bad Acting, Bad Sets, Historical Inaccuracies and scripts that should have gone in the bin rather than into production. This is no exception.
Think there was only 3 or 4 scenes throughout the whole film. The actors act like they were on a pantomime stage rather than a film set. Everything was Soooooo slow as well, it was worse than bad.
Please, don't waste your time like I did, you'll never get it back.

The worst film I've ever seen. So bad I felt compelled to sign up and write this review. I've seen better acting in my daughters school play. Don't waste your time!

Any movie about the SS would have us thinking they were all loyal and faithful soldiers who never questioned the cause. This movie will make you question that stereotype. I can see why such poor reviews would be given. There are no broad scenes with hundreds of victims like you would see in Schindler's List. In fact, the sets are so small and confined to small rooms that the movie could easily be an off Broadway play with an acting staff of less than a dozen. But there is so much whispering in the movie (for good reason) that it would have to be a movie just to capture the dialogue. Don't seek an action blood and guts movie here, but it's an important addition to your watch list if you want a glimpse into a real possible life of a soldier.

Pros: Just witnessed the worst acting ever.
Cons: Boring yet pathetic storyline, complimented with irritating music throughout.
Conclusion: Value your time on earth & skip this movie.

It may not be a Schindler's List but it's not meant to be. The camera work was very good, the story well written, the acting very appropriate for the time of the story. As it states at the end this was a fictional story, however based on actual events during WW2.
In reading many of the other reviews I feel they are either uneducated or just plain stupid to think this torturous time never happened. I was born 2 years before this war ended and during my life I have known quite a few people who went through those terrible times.
Let's hope we never see anything like this again, or maybe we need to so those who wrote such disgusting reviews will get to experience what life and death can really be like.
Thank you Amazon for bringing this movie out for us to see.

Many people have commented on the bad acting and accents used by the actors in this film. After watching it I thought it was an ok movie with a half decent story line similar to Schindlers list.

Having a very sick sense of humour you may consider watching this..its truly horrendous it's like the 'allo 'allo version of a concentration camp..what makes it so horrifically cringe making I disagree is the bad acting or the obviously low budget it's the incredibly unbelievable storyline and the insultingly stupid script...If it was written by an earnest 13 year old it might be forgivable,to imagine that this was written by an adult professional writer is appalling.I honestly feel sorry for the actors involved it's like they've been cast in a movie whose scriptwriter is so naive in the extreme and cliché ridden that even a prime Robert DeNiro couldn't make it sound natural and believable...I can imagine any real life holocaust survivor would find this insulting ly dumb.

Don't waste your time with this movie. The actors don't deserve even one star!
When will it end? The movie? The war? The constant endless conveyor belt of these lame attempts to vilify and victimize are so transparently bogus that any real researcher or astute historian can expose its endless shortcomings and outrageous exaggerations and outright lies.

This is a very sensitive, powerful, heartbreaking and evil period in our still living memory , writers, actors, directors and producers should approach this area carefully and respectfully. Sadly this team didn't, very low budget, poor script, poor acting and poor everything, if you can't do it properly don't do it !!! the reviews on the DVD box claim ... ' A companion Piece To Schindler's List' & ' An Engaging World War II Drama' quoted from Bryn Curt James Hammond (look him up on IMDB) , should be sued for those comments and obviously paid, did he even see the film??? .
If i could give '0' score i would , shame on all the crew and people involved !!!!

Seriously, anyone who can even finish watching this garbage, let alone rate it anything other that a "1" is related to the people involved in hashing it together.....

When a cinematic german drama comes out with a lower review than "Human Centipede 2". I come in expecting some outlandish European Rubbish.
Everything is in English, even if they have a heavy acted accent. Over all, anyone that doesn't say, "It's a decent attempt", is lying. *6/10*

This film brought to life a real and heart wrenching scenario of just some of the atrocities that happened during the Second World War. Michael McKell plays an evil SS officer perfectly and his daughter Claudia Grace McKell played Helena, who delivered a wonderful performance along with her Co star Lewis Kirk who played a compassionate guard, also a great performance. The film was excellent and I highly recommend viewing. I would like to have seen the ending on a more dramatic and happier note. Although the only happy outcome of WW2 was the death of the Fuhrer.

I thought about Uwe Boll's AUSCHWITZ when I watched this one. Both belong to the bottom of the barrel films speaking of the Holocaust. Both are lousy, clumsy, but useful though, to help young generations to undertsand the unthinkable. There were fortunately many other films, and series, TV movies and documents talking about this topic. This is not Robert Merle's LA MORT EST MON METIER either, a novel showing the point of view of Auschwitz warden. I don't think this book was ever adapted, so shame. Anyway, this corny movie deserves to be seen.

Only watched the first half hour. If you are going to make a "historical" film, the least you could do is basic reasearch. To say the least, the sets were mediocre. The camp sets failed to make the remotest attempt at any accuracy nor did the arrival, selection of prisoners or their "behaviour" come close to reality.
I began to have serious problems at the onset with the imaginary Hitler Youth uniforms and incorrect wearing of the armband (which actually looked velcroed). Accuracy is important if the message is to come across. The "SS" officer at the very beginning typified the lack of any attempt to research: SS rank tab was for a lieutenant while the shoulder straps were for a captain. He had a sleeve eagle for an enlisted man and (given this scene was well before WW2 began), the cuff title of a Waffen-SS unit that did not exist until circa 1943. I won't mention the length of hair for SS officers. The inaccuracies were plentiful.
The film (couldn't watch anymore) was an imaginary view of the Holocaust which was misleading and insulting to the victims. I could not sit and watch more than I did as it was so poor a depiction of the supposed subject matter.
