No, not really. William Wallace (aka Braveheart) and Robert the Bruce are two real people in Scottish history. Both featured in the film Braveheart however the film itself is mostly fiction. This production is not a sequel to Braveheart but a different telling of the life of a character who featured in Braveheart.
