I haven't seen any Nollywood films, but I imagine this is on par.
You have ficheras legend lifelessly delivering lines to collect his (small) paycheck (probably paid him $200 for this, given the shoestring budget and his lack of effort).
Then there's some effeminate paisa guy who has a voice as annoying as Bobcat Goldwaithe. His voice gets extremely annoying in 2 minutes flat.
The rest of the cast is apparently composed of tourists and locals, who, from the looks of it, were completely untrained in the art of acting and not given anything but the most paltry of direction. Except to see light tapping with fists symbolize punching, witnesses to a kidnapping smiling while they try to stop the kidnappers, and a trio of chubby local boys wheezing through their lines.
It feels like someone gave 10-year-olds professional equipment to shoot a movie and then encouraged them to actually finish it.
I can't imagine how a serious professional production (it had DVD art and some decent music tracks and everything) from a cinematically developed country like Mexico could get any worse. If Ghana or Honduras made a movie, sure, but this is surprising.
Honorable Mentions: Here Zayas plays a detective, although not really. He's kind of only a detective in name to further the weak plot. El Gordo de America (1976) was a pretty decent comedy where Porcel played an incompetent fat detective. I'd say even funnier than John Candy's attempt.
