I enjoyed the film. Worth a watch, some people will connect with the material - some people won't. I think McCurdy should keep directing, look forward to seeing what she does. Gonna keep this short - as it is a short film.
Jennette did a great job in her writing and directing debute. This is what a short film should be like. You can tell she is an actors director as the ensemble cast does a wondering job bringing her characters to life. Kenny is a character who has been going through so much but continues his homely life style as he takes care of his ill mother while the rest of the family and his old friends move on with their lives. So many aspects make "Kenny" such a solid short film. I hope Jennette continues to write and direct in the near future. I really enjoyed this film and would recommend it to others who are in the process of creating their own short film. Many lessons could be learned in filmmaking by observing this film.

I wanted to give "Kenny" a chance because I recognized some of the actors and thought the plot line seemed engaging. Although I haven't seen anything else McCurdy has written and didn't know her from anything else besides the Nickelodeon children's show "iCarly", I still expected this short to be great. It unfortunately was not. I honestly couldn't even finish it that's how bad it was. The beginning looked promising, but went downhill very fast. The name's sake was the only likeable character and the dialogue just didn't roll with the pacing like it should have and felt forced and awkwardly delivered. However, her directing skills were not all that bad for an amateur. I give the directing a 4, but the overall movie was a 2 for me.
