Apart from the similarity in name, this movie has nothing to do with the MGR starrer that was released ages ago.

A good storyline and screenplay sets this movie apart from the so-so village based movies that have been released so far. Some of the events like "jallikattu" have been used prudently used in the movie. The movie also takes on the issue of caste.

The director has handled the entire script in a very judicious manner, giving a watchable movie.

Samuthrakani does a fantastic job as usual.

The movie is very nice and worth watching. It's a short two hour film and good entertainment. It's not boring and the subject of the movie is amazing. The music is outstanding by santhosh dhayanidhi and it's breathtaking throughout and apt for all the scenes. Would recommend people to watch it.
