Mary Parsons (Cameron Protzman) is initially proud of her father winning the mayor race in their dying small town. He starts changing and destroys his marriage. He's now living with his father Pat (Corbin Bernsen). He finds himself unopposed in the upcoming election. He expects Mary to vote for him as she turns 18. She grows more angry at her father's policies and declares that she's running against him in front of the media. Now, she actually has to do it.
I'm perfectly happy with this little movie until Eugene shows up. Mary changes on a dime for no particular reason. It's not set up and I don't buy it. The movie is trying too hard to give the plot a turn and it runs into a ditch. It screws up a nice simple little flick.
