Having been a hard-core MasterChef Australia fan , watched few episodes of MasterChef India S7 in the beginning but stopped viewing as it did not live upto the expectations ( maybe it was a bit unfair to compare it with the Australian version) in terms of overall presentation & the quality of judging that was bordering more on negativity than motivating the contestants most of the time. Too much over verbal publicity of the sponsors every now & then by judges & contestants is quite an annoying part. Why do you need it when the brand labels are visually projected on the screen most of the duration of the show time! Compare this to Australia version and you will know the difference in quality of content . Contestants lacked the skills one would have expected from a MasterChef contest- for example, basic use of a grill , baking essentials were new to some , use of pizza oven in the team event was a disaster & one felt sad for the contestants. Although the team events were quite enjoyable to watch. Ranveer' s judging has been good towards the last few episodes with proper tasting and feedback given , Vikas is also professional in his judging but most annoying is Garima- she doesn't taste but "pinches" the food & arrives at a conclusion which she cannot do during the finale especially when cooking of top finalists are at stake- c'mon have a heart for the effort these contestants have put in!! Format is not consistent - for example in thali event, dabbawalas voted but vote count was not shown in the end ! Another unacceptable part is contestant Aruna who does not cook non- vegetarian- how was she selected in this contest? A good cook may be a vegan but has to know how to cook both veg and non- veg cuisines at a contest level. Nayanjyoti & Suvarna show a lot of promise and Gurkirat has shown great determination in some of the episodes. This show is watchable but NOT a patch close to the MasterChef Australia in all areas( judges, contestants, presentation)

The melodrama is just intense, it's a cooking show, why isn't there enough coverage of the actual food? Sponsorship is everywhere, Amul this and Amul that! How can this show possibly compete with MasterChef Australia. I'm soo disappointed. Indian cuisine is my favourite cuisine, yet the show is made like a weepy soap opera!

What a pathetic show. More focus on unnecessary things and less focus on cooking. The final episode of season 6 shows how pathetic it is. Just 5-10 mins on actual cooking while the rest was just some unnecessary antics of some of the guests
I have only watched Season 6 of Masterchef India and what a waste of time it was!!
This felt like a C-grade soap opera rather than a cooking show. It had everything- useless drama, bollywood music, big boss type fights, romance - but hardly any cooking!! The Finale was the worst. They hardly showed 5 minutes of cooking. And filled the time with some unknown actor showing how to propose, music, useless jokes!! What were they thinking! Such embarrassment for India.
Masterchef Australia showcases Indian cuisine better than Masterchef India. If Indian production houses cannot do a proper cooking show, I don't think they should do season 7 and make a joke of Indian cooking and India.

Season 6 Review because Hotstar's poverty couldn't help them buy other seasons (Oh, Episode 7 is missing)
It's horrible.
The judges' costumes look like they came from a fancy dress competition.
Most of the contestants don't know anything. Shame.
This is more of a master chef north India.
The show is everything but cooking - Drama, Romance and all things unnecessary.
The worst thing about this show is Amul & Sleek Ads by contestants. Depressing.

Stop copying ideas and come up with something of your own. Also, stop pushing ads on users in streaming services just to get higher TRP ratings. Focus on content.

The contestants are really talented, but the judges are not really talented upto the contestants. Making too much drama in the show to make it like a typical Indian reality show.. From the judges of MasterChef 7 especially Ranveer Brar who keeps on sniffing food, even water he is sniffing literally, anyone who loves food won't feel comfortable seeing someone smelling freshly prepared food before eating, it's kind of disrespecting. After the effort the contestants put in to make a dish within the limited time and they simply disrespect them and their food. And the advertisements , its there every 5 seconds. And lastly it's not MasterChef India , it's just MasterChef North India. Why not they make it in English and include non-Hindi speakers too.. And lot of favourism too.
The sponsored ads being repeated in bthe middle by contestansts looks so fake and the feel of show is cringy because of it. Other than Chef Vikas others are giving a negative vibe. It doesn't show much passion and stressing on cleaning the station and plating too much rather than food is annoying. Maybe I'll stick to other country Masterchefs for now......

I watched the Season 6 and I'm really disappointed. Judges didn't even seem to care about the purpose of the show. It always felt like judges just want to be rude with contestants and shout at them and make them feel depressed. I felt very unhealthy vibes while watching the show. Judges even made contestants fight with each other deliberately. The dramatic environment of the show never ends. This didn't even feel like a reality show. The show puts less focus on food and puts more focus on contestants flirting with judges and also plays
romantic bollywood songs in background to encourage it. All these made judges look very unprofessional. Many times, if one judge doesn't like the dish, other judges don't even care to try it, I don't understand why they are called judges in the first place. When they run out of dramatic ideas and still want to humiliate a contestant, there was this instance, where they criticized the contestant for the color of the plate they used. I'm done, and disappointed to waste time on this show.

Have been a masterchef fan for more than a decade. However masterchef India leaves a lot to be desired. It is indeed a reality show, so a little bit of Drama is given, however it seems very strange that a contestant like health food master Priya is let go for lack of versatility & another home cook like Aruna Vijay who does not cook meat is taken till finale. I feel she doesn't deserve to be there. She has also chosen to give away her immunity pin to stay away from cooking meat. A clearly talented home cook like priyanka is let go & extremely promising cooks like Vineet & Avinash are not in the game. The Judges are excellent but to let home cook like Aruna who has personal (vegan) choices is reaching this stage seems a little unfair when we have dragged home cooks like Gurkeerat & priyanka out of their comfort zones (desert specialist) in to all type of cooking. Looks like a rigged show which has never been the case before with any masterchef.

Horrible imitation of other versions of this show. Apparently dressing the judges like clowns is what this show has "observed".
If not the judges, then show has made the judges to act and behave for the sole purpose of creating an air of drama.
Sad to see airtime wasted like this.
This show used to be really good, but from last few seasons they have just made it all about advertisements, the producers, director and the show only cares about how to make money instead of providing a platform for home cooks to learn and make their name.
Now they are also utilizing the contestants for showing advertisements. Every few mins they just randomly start saying promotional brand names and how they are using the premade sauces and spices.
They just bring in new product promotion every year and fool the public by saying this is MasterChef. I believe this is one of the reasons the good judges who actually love cooking deep from their heart leave the show every season. The current judge just wants to make money.

Couldn't watch a single episode since it was so dramatic. Biggest fan of Masterchef Australia, even with the latest judges. People are compassionate and it's all about food and inclusion culture. In Australia, they adore any cooking with flavor. But in India, it's all about melodrama. Not sure why that is a conception, maybe that's why Indian TV shows don't become popular internationally.
Also, the show should be renamed Master chef North India?

Season 8 Review -
Across the globe, it has a massive fan following, and why not? We have food lovers everywhere. Watching exquisite cuisines being prepared and served is a different sort of high. I hadn't been following the seasons for quite some time, yet the thumbnail of Season 8 intrigued me.
Twelve contestants, with celebrity chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna continuing as judges and Pooja Dhingra joining them this season. The season presented various culinary challenges to the contestants, who had to cope with the pressure to secure their place in the show.
This season was highly underwhelming, as very few challenges were unique and never seen before. Most of the time, contestants played it safe by preparing almost the same things in different versions. On top of everything, the favoritism by Ranveer and Vikas was blatant. You could guess the winner in the first 10 episodes.
The show, of course, provided dishes that make your mouth water and crave the food, but that's all. This could be achieved by any YouTube channel too. When you have many seasons, I know it's tough to bring innovation, but you've got to; otherwise, don't revive the season just to fill your prime time and gain some GRPs.
Watch it only for the love of food, or else you will be disappointed to see favoritism taking center stage and all other contestants being unfairly treated. #pranureviews #masterchefindia #masterchefindiaseason8 #masterchefindiaseason8review #masterchefindiareview.

It should be a simple cooking show all about cooking and foods but maker introduces useless rules and make contestants to fight each other. 4 star for 3 judge and 1 for contestants.
