First Resident Evil game in which you can control two characters at the same time.
There are a few gameplay differences between Rebecca and Billy. Only she can mix chemicals and herbs, while Billy is the only one able to use a lighter and push heavy objects. He is also more resistant to damages and can shoot better than her, meaning that he inflicts more damage to the enemies.
Besides being in full high-definition, an upgrade to 5.1 surround sound, video options for both the original 4:3 ratio or a new 16:9 option, as well as more control styles including a modern non-tank-like control scheme, additions to this remaster in comparison to the 2002 GameCube remake are: Easy mode, Wesker mode (where you control Albert Wesker instead of Billy Coen, the dialogues are still the same), Rebecca's "Cowgirl" and "Leather" costumes and Billy's "Jacket" costume are automatically available in the Suitcase at the start of the game, Rebecca's new "Team Wesker" costume can be unlocked by completing Wesker Mode. Other costumes are available via DLC. There are a total of four costume packs for both Billy and Rebecca.
The crimson heads zombies introduced in the first game's remaster do not return in this episode. Ironically, the rocket launcher does make zombies' heads explode (which would have prevented them to come back as crimson heads) while the first game's version of the weapon did not.
