Star Natalie Morales commented in an interview with NBC News about filming the show outside: "It was really different and kind of wild, and the audience felt that way too. It was kind of like we were all in this weird thing together. There was definitely some interruptions with sound, but overall it was a really great experience."
The cash register at Abby's bar is a vintage "National Cash Register" from the early 1900's.
On May 30, 2019, NBC announced the cancellation of Abby's after one season.
This is the second sitcom featuring a bisexual lead. Natalie Morales plays lead character Abby who identifies as bisexual.
