Polyamory, a sort of "open marriage" concept dating back in popularity to the '60s, is treated by James Avalon quite superficially in this second volume of his Erotica X series. Only one of the four segments is relevant.
That one was spoiled by casting James Deen, he of great fame and marquee value but too busy or disinterested to bother with characterization. He merely shows up to hump as the husband to Pepper XO who decide to try on Ana Foxx for size in a proposed polyamorous relationship, first time for her to join the Swingers brigade. Even here the concept of having lasting sexual/emotional relationships with more than one partner, akin to polygamy but legal, is hardly demonstrated in a one-nighter.
The rest of the show is tangential to the central premise at best. Valentina Nappi and Elle Alexandra do some heavy smooching leading to Sapphic sex, as lesbian lovers. Nappi with Elle's blessing has previously been seen humping Seth Gamble, giving her a heterosexual relationship as well. Elle is quite familiar as an icon of Lesbian cinema, so her casting works out fine, but with very brief set-ups (Avalon does not use scripts on his Erotica X projects, with obviously improvised dialog by the players) there is no delving into the psychology or feelings about the three of them regarding this "sharing" arrangement.
Remaining vignette has Seth dallying with Cece Capella, more of a tit for tat than polyamory, as he's getting something on the side just like Valentina. The intertwining, or perhaps even a chain letter aspect to such overlapping or concatenated relationships would have been interesting, but both Mile High (parent company distributing Erotica X) and Avalon are merely delivering Couples Romance content of a bland, lightweight order.
