Kinda pretentious indie drama about depression, drug addiction, the struggle of trying to get by and trying to get home. It's a pretty compelling story, just a bit let down by some dodgy dialogue here and there and a few of the cast not pulling their weight. I enjoyed the last 30 minutes or so a lot, it gets pretty insane and intense. Not that the first hour was bad or anything...just kinda felt like it was walking a straight path for too long. Decent enough.

Its a great movie for the youngster, hipster all this kind of people. Though you get all you searching for the eternal love. That only can give your family. Appreciated the thought of behind the movie.

Well done low budget film with good performances and excellent soundtrack. Gritty and disturbing. Shows how drugs can turn good people bad... If you like stories about the underbelly of society with the dregs of society that inhabit this world you will enjoy this film.

I read it was this generations Trainspotting. Unfortunately it is nothing like that. It's a slow and pointless film that tried to make it interesting by adding a slight twist that itself was in itself pointless. I was not impressed with this movie.

This is a film that is going to stay with you for a long time. Although it does have some amaeteurish issues here and there sometimes with the sound and editing...overall it's a gut punch of a film that constantly surprises you with it's intensity. There are moments that will shock you out of your stupor. A true punk rock film. The performances of the parents unfortunately didn't match the central 3 but that can be forgiven. I highly recommend this if you're ready for it.

I don't get the high ratings. It held my interest almost till the end but I couldn't take it anymore. No real story here and the acting, especially the slim guy was awfull. I think the people eating this so high must be high. Or low intellect. Don't waste your time far better films on this topic..

Very underrated on imdb. Solid acting throughout, and a seriously good story. The rest has been said by others better before me in the reviews. Highly recommended!

This was a fantastic kinda acting like dopeheads under the influence of drugs pills and alcohol, a marvellous tragic, sad a bittertasting saga, on a low budget, tale of youth and young adults having lost or on the verge of loosing the game of existence due to the drug and punk'n roll epidemic.
there are some cheesy bits and pieces here and there and the bitter end couldve been even grittier and should have been refurbished a little thats why i lost 2 stars on behalf of the true belief in all the rest. but the psychedellic acting and wild choice of score are at a top level and more than amazing so its a big recommend from the grumpy old man..

I found this underrated gem on Amazon yesterday and felt compelled to write a review. Not often do I find films that hit so close to home and this was one of them. Although excruciating to watch at times, it was an incredibly rewarding experience that serves as a much needed commentary on an underbelly most never see.
As someone who's been homeless, in jail, and committed to psych wards as a result of mental illness, many scenes felt painfully familiar. It felt like I was reliving traumatic experiences of my own throughout and at times I struggled to finish it. The acting was extremely realistic and really took you into the gritty and bleak world of the characters, which I know all to well.
I recommend this to anyone who has a family member that's been homeless and struggles with mental health/addiction, as it will give you a glimpse into the terrible roller coaster ride they go through. While many have compassion for people in these types of situations, far fewer really understand it.

Could've summed the story up in 5 minutes. Too predictable a story. Overacted by supporting cast. Should've quit it after 20 minutes. Save your time!

Wow,for a seemingly low budget movie, this movie delivered in so many ways.A poignant movie about a young man's journey though hell and redemption through hard drug use,low internal self image and understanding.

Loved this film, it was pretty dark and heavy at times but there was also some funny moments mixed in and the soundtrack was killer! It has its flaws, as it's definitely a lower budget indie, but having said that, with the pacing and energy of it I just couldn't look away. Would definitely recommend for fans of Suburbia, SLC Punk, and Trainspotting.
I was fortunate to see this at a festival in LA and it made me feel similar to the way I did when I first watched Requiem For a Dream. It was a real gut punch and I was honestly moved by the main characters arc. You could really tell the director understood what these characters were going through and for that I thank him.
This movie highlights so many societal issues within our country that every single person out there can relate to, through the lease of a trouble young man who became lost when his faith was destroyed by the ones he had faith in the most. There is heartbreak, love, rebellion, adventure, humor, pain, failure, and success in everyone's lives and I think this story does a great job of touching every type of viewer within those feelings and aspects of life. We don't have to be homeless to be able to relate to the underlying themes of this story, we just have to be alive, and I think that's part of what makes this story so great. If you know someone, you're doing them a disservice by withholding the recommendation to watch this film.
This is about as good as you get to a flashback to the Trainspotting glory, although T.S. was the ultimate realistic look at the junkie world Gutterbug has parts that make me question the raw authenticity it's attempting to achieve!

I saw this film at the Independent Film Festival of Boston last year, and I have raved about it up until this point. The team behind this film put their heart and souls on screen, and this film is a masterpiece in writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and ACTING! Andrew Yackel and the core cast of characters captivated me from beginning to end.
I can't recommend the film enough. If you're from Boston, this film will hit you at your core; if you're a filmmaker, let this film be one to strive towards; if you're sitting at home wondering what to do with your night, watch this film and live in some unkept, buggy shoes for a little.

Excellent movie.. deserves it's rating as above 8.5, kind of roller coaster mixed up with all emotions in a single movie .
I found it to be difficult to watch at certain points due to the fact I could relate so closely with people I know in similar situations which made it very realistic for me, and I found it to be an accurate portrayal of homelessness and drug addiction. I resonated with bug's vocal narrative In a real way and for me those moments were the best parts of the entire film. Whenever he would speak from a narrative perspective I found it very insightful and intelligent and it made you not only see him but appreciate him as a person to the point you could relate to him despite his struggles and not think of him as just a desperate addict on the streets lacking human connection. I found the tone of the film to be the power of humanity and the vital importance of family connections and how we crave those connections when they've been lost. I thought it flowed together beautifully with the car accident and bug ending up in the same hospital room as his father. And I felt his mother consistently having a cake for him just shows the power of family despite addiction or differences and the love a family has for their child and never giving up on them, even when everything is telling them they should. The message was clear, and I found it to be beautifully portrayed in the difficulties that come along with addiction and family.
Woah, that was a rollercoaster ride of emotion! All I can say is grab your popcorn and buckle up!
