Story for drama series "Denei Shojo: Video Girl Ai 2018" is set 25 years after the original manga "Denei Shojo: Ai-hen." Main character in the drama series Sho Moteuchi is the nephew of manga series main character Yota Moteuchi.
Based on manga series "Denei Shojo: Ai-hen" by Masakazu Katsura (first published from 1989 to 1992 in magazine Weekly Shonen Jump).
