If only it were not the main character (Wotan Wilke Möhring as Ludwig Licht) to be a complete nuisance, in his orig. German tongue, as well as in English.
He, unfortunately, isn't up for this : either overdoing it, boldly, coming across pretty dumb, wooden, or quite uninspired he is attempting to deliver to us some utter boring 'German Character' who fails to be one : a charcater, of some sort.
the series as such is in good tradition of plain and concisely told stories within a story one expects from excellent British and Nordic films, of what Dominic Graf and his scholars would have produced in Germany.

German production, who wonders about the ratings?
Typical german production. Boring. And the producers again really seem to think that keeping a story obscure and unexplained for quite a while this would result in suspense and thrill. It doesn't, it just makes it boring. The main actress was pretty awful and bloodless, and the main actor not much better in trying to force the impression of acting.
But again, also this production is on highest levels of political correctness. Seems to me, this is the main point of so many failures of german - state-bound! - production. They're so obsessed to keep it PC that they don't realize that they always get stuck there, leaving no room for any narrative improvement. It has got to the point that killing off somebody in the meanwhile also is regarded under the premises of PC and set in scene likewise, of unbelievable ridiculousness. Murder is OK as long it is "morally justified". This dull Zeitgeist has reached unimaginable shallow levels ...

The story is fine, if not a bit confusing. But holy cow-that's some of the worst acting I've seen. It covers the range from incompetent to over the top. With hundreds of this type of show out there, you're better off looking somewhere else.

Binge-watched West of Liberty, finding it pretty impeccable. No mention of it in Wikipedia or the other "Legacy" media, but, funnily all the other truly a-w-f-u-l shows are listed and fawned over. Well, if you are curious about this one let me really recommend it to you. It is an adaptation of the spy-novel by Swede Thomas Engström. I think they may have done a few tweaks, esp. with the Julian Assange similes, but honestly! - what a thoroughly satisfying, realistic sort of story, with characters who play the parts well and do nothing that You-and-I wouldn't be expected to do. Wow!! By today's standards that's almost normal - right?

Just to begin with, this is my first movie review ever, I like movies and series like 'Bourne identity' and such, and this falls to the category in my books. I am not normally following Swedish series, which my wife likes, but because of her this pulled me in; good actors, anti-James Bond characters and good dry humour, all that made me smile and I was hooked...producers, keep up the good work, and please make another season.
