In 2006, Mel Gibson was just about the most controversial guy in Hollywood. But he was, let’s all admit it, still an icon of the screen. As such, some people still had a lot of faith in him. And that faith would be translated in Hacksaw Ridge. There was the faith of its central figure, Desmond Doss; that which the producers and studio put into Gibson; and that which Gibson himself had in the project, which would tell of a conscientious objector during World War II. A gamble? Absolutely. A success? Unprecedented. So pick up that weapon, soldier – or, better yet, be at ease – as we find out: What Happened to This Movie?!
Hacksaw Ridge centers around the real-life figure of Desmond Doss, who served as a medic during World War II and became famous for his refusal to carry a weapon. Even still, he is credited with saving 75 lives while in action.

In today’s world of gaming, there shouldn’t be any distinctions between men and women. However, not everyone can accept this fact. A similar thing happened with Battlefield 5. Before the release of this popular title, the trailer of the game stirred serious controversy.
EA’s only mistake was to show female soldiers in Battlefield 5. | Credit: Electronic Arts.
Why was there a backlash? Although women did serve in combat during World War II, some fans claimed that the game’s reveal trailer, which showed a woman fighting on the front lines, compromised authenticity for political correctness. This baseless criticism was later smashed by Electronic Arts. However, the same thing can’t be said about Call of Duty: WWII.

The atmosphere in Steven Spielberg’s office was icy in November 1999. Paul Bucha, president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, is at the director’s Amblin production company on the Universal Studios lot.The Vietnam veteran, who received America’s highest honor for his own bravery in the face of criticism, is speaking out against video games. firmly. The specific object of his ire was Medal of Honor, a first-person shooter that Spielberg himself created.

Spielberg, whose company DreamWorks Interactive developed the title, looks absolutely gutted. Medal of Honor was his passion project, after all, designed to give kids genuine insight into the history behind WW2. As a proud American, the filmmaker is left heartbroken by Bucha’s verbal tirade.

When I met him, he was the member of the band with a portable PlayStation suitcase setup, on which they all played FIFA and Medal of Honor during long tour-bus rides. One Direction were a new band, and Liam Payne was about to turn 19. In the spring of 2012, I spent a few days hanging out with the group for a potential Rolling Stone cover story that never came to fruition. Over the years, we’ve released a few interviews from that reporting. Here’s my solo conversation with the singer...

For the past three decades, DreamWorks has been seen as the studio that challenged Disney and, in some cases, won. If you are still in business after so many years and are still making movies, then you are clearly doing something right. Originally founded on October 12th, 1994, by three innovators with different motivations, the studio has gone on to make some of the biggest franchises in film history.
Who founded Dreamworks?
Originally conceived by former Disney executive Jeffery Katzenberg, he sought the aid of fellow entertainment executives Steven Spielberg and David Geffen. The three would found DreamWorks Skg with the purpose of becoming a major force in the entertainment industry. The studio’s first release was The Peacemaker in 1997 with other films like Amistad and Mouse Trap releasing that same year.

Steven Spielberg, the legendary filmmaker behind blockbusters that require no introduction, has a secret passion that might surprise some of his fans: he’s an avid gamer. But not just any gamer—Spielberg is a true PC Master Race loyalist with a particular fondness for first-person shooters, especially Call of Duty.

But, what many don’t realize is that Spielberg’s connection to the gaming world runs much deeper than just being a fan. His influence on the industry, particularly in the genre of war games, is far more significant than most people know.
In fact, it’s not an exaggeration to say that without Spielberg, the Fps gaming scene as we know it today might look very different.

NCIS: Origins is debuting, so here are some classic NCIS episodes to watch to get ready for it!
NCIS fans have long been missing Agent Jethro Gibbs. The heart of the series since it debuted as a backdoor pilot on Jag, Gibbs was loved for his stern demeanor, dedication to his job, sometimes wry humor and tragic backstory of losing a wife and child. Mark Harmon made the character beloved, so it was a shock when Gibbs opened Season 19 by quitting to retire to Alaska.
Fortunately, Harmon will be returning to the franchise in a unique way. NCIS: Origins takes us back to 1993 with Austin Stowell playing a younger Gibbs joining the agency and how he became the agent we know. It looks to be an intriguing spin on the franchise and to prepare for it, these episodes are must-watch to see what parts of Gibbs' life can come to play.

When it comes to successful video games with a team-based approach to their single player campaign, Call of Duty would be the first name to be popped on a gamer’s tongue. But if it wasn’t for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, we might’ve gotten a different product.
So many instances in the game as we know them today may not even come to fruition in the first place. Maybe we could’ve been left to our own devices in those lonely alleyways to kill soldiers asking for an identity.

“That was a real close tight-knit group of people,” the founder of Infinity Ward told North Nugget Bay in 2005 when Call of Duty‘s success sparked growth for the company. It prompted them to triple their staff.

Call of Duty Revolutionised the Fps Genre By Making the Single-Player Campaigns a Team-Based Success
Two is always better than one, and Activision took that seriously when it released the first Call of Duty game in 2003. Before that, we had video games like Doom and Project Igi where users were on their own. Yes, the characters with guns gave them an adrenaline rush, but it wasn’t enough.
In reality, Medal of Honor tried this approach with Allied Assault and became an instant hit. It was that time Infinity Ward began hiring and managed to bring a large piece of the game’s development team onboard. Today, EA’s game is nowhere to be found in the news, but Activision’s remains.
Yes There Were Allies But it Still Felt Moving Like a Lone Wolf
It is true, humans are social animal. And it’s not just true for the world we live in, but for the other worlds too. We gamers often enter from one world to another.

Donald Trump doubled down on his comments about how the Presidential Medal of Freedom is superior to the military Medal of Honor because the former involves no sacrifice.

Michael Giacchino, one of Hollywood’s most celebrated and prolific composers, certainly has enough material for a greatest hits album. He’s created the brilliant scores to “The Incredibles,” “Up,” “Lost” and 2009’s “Star Trek”. An album with cues from these titles (and others that he’d composed), would do gangbusters. But he didn’t want to do just another greatest hits album.
Instead, he thought about his uncle Pete, who lived outside of Philadelphia. Uncle Pete, you see, owned an appliance store.
“He also sold stereos, and at the stereos were those big console stereos which we love. BMI Celebrates ‘Game of Thrones’ Composer Ramin Djawadi With Icon Honor at Annual Film and TV Awards
“Game of Thrones” composer Ramin Djawadi was honored with the BMI Icon Award at Broadcast Music Inc.’s 40th annual Film, TV and Visual Media Awards Wednesday night in Beverly Hills.

Helldivers 2 provides players with an option to melee enemies but it is not very effective against strong enemies so players rarely ever try to get a melee kill. A Helldivers 2 fan has come up with a concept of melee finishers that take inspiration from the Medal of Honor and Assassin’s Creed video game series.
Helldivers 2 (via Arrowhead Game Studios)
This cool concept was well-received by the fans and Arrowhead can certainly take notes from it. This is definitely something that should be in the game although it would only be effective against weaker enemies. These melee finishers are only showcased against Automaton units but it is certainly a good place to start.

Everyone is aware of how talented director Steven Spielberg is, however, not many people know that the director is equally influential in the gaming industry. In 1999, the director created and served as a producer for a first-person shooter video game, Medal of Honor, which was developed by DreamWorks Interactive and published by Electronic Arts.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
The Medal of Honor franchise was quite popular in the 2000s, however, the competition from franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield slowed it down. In 2020, the franchise made a strong comeback with Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. It was certainly a remarkable game as it became the only video game to win an Oscar. The game includes the short documentary Colette, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject at the 93rd Academy Awards.

When a game like Helldivers 2 hits the market, the demand for a PvP mode is inevitable. After all, it has a lot of guns, already features squad-based gameplay, and requires an active internet connection (even for solo play sessions).
Since you are already playing with people all over the world, why not add the option to play against them as well, right? Well, it seems the developers are strongly against this decision. So much so, that we will never be getting a PvP mode to the game unless someone can create some sort of mod for the PC version.
The Devs of Helldivers 2 Are Against PvP Modes Due to Toxicity
Squad-based Helldivers 2 will never get a PvP mode
Confirmation for there never being a PvP mode for Helldivers 2 came directly from the top boss at Arrowhead Games, Johan Pilestedt. He shared this decision during a conversation on X. Pilestedt was...

International superstar Yoshiki has auctioned his beloved crystal piano to raise money for earthquake victims, with the winning bid reaching 40 million yen when the 4-day auction ended on January 16.
Yoshiki announced the auction on January 9 at his ceremony at Tcl Chinese Theatre, where his cement handprints and footprints were unveiled at the forecourt of the Hollywood landmark. Yoshiki is the first Japanese star to receive the rare honor from the Chinese Theatre since the tradition began nearly 100 years ago.

Yoshiki said, “I was back in Japan at the end of the year for several TV appearances, and through the news reports I saw the damages caused by the earthquake. It is very painful as I think about the feelings of the many people who are suffering so much in the disaster areas. I thought about what I could do and made a donation. The reason I announce these donations each time is to attempt to expand the circle of support even a little. Roger Corman's 1960 feature films "House of Usher" was the first film in a long series of Edgar Allan Poe-based movies at American International Pictures. From 1960 to 1964, Corman directed eight Poe films, with all but one of them starring Vincent Price. After "House of Usher," Corman made "The Pit and the Pendulum," "The Premature Burial," the anthology film "Tales of Terror," "The Raven," "The Haunted Palace," "The Masque of the Red Death," and "The Tomb of Ligeia." Technically, 1963's "The Haunted Palace" isn't a Poe movie. It was named after Poe's 1893 poem but was in fact based on the 1927 short novel "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" by H.P. Lovecraft. Poe, it seems, was a bigger marquee name than Lovecraft, so the latter author's story was merely folded into Corman's short-lived but well-remembered Poe subgenre.

Movie star John Wayne developed a strong understanding of what audiences wanted to see from him in the roles that he chose. However, he also kept a finger on the pulse of the type of films that his peers starred in, and he certainly wasn’t afraid to speak his mind about them. Wayne didn’t care for a Gary Cooper movie that he called a “mockery of America’s highest award for valor.”

Wayne held the belief that the movie industry should be a “family business” of sorts. He detested the notion of a ratings system that allowed adult feature films with extreme violence and sexuality to hit silver screens to rely on human curiosity to make money.
The Oscar-winning actor refused to accept notable roles in movies such as High Noon and Blazing Saddles because of their morals.
