Story was great a love affection between sidhi a ghost and nanu.
This story had some message that we should not keep the dead body safe after ones death. The intresting part was at the last when sidhi came to save her love. And her way of speaking was amazing.
But the mistake this film had was that it didn't show sidhi scooter crashing with the black scorpio and the way she loose her balance was normal and the most important mistake was the way she fall down doesn't proove that her head was injured then how did she die? and when we saw her falling down from the scooter was on her and when nanu reaches to save there was some distance between scooter and her. Another mistake was when we saw the footage of white fortuner going through that road there was proof that the fortune had not struck with the scooter but then also the fortuner owner had been told the culprit by the police that was the reason he gave them ransom.
My suggestion was that you should have shown it some realistic. There was simple mistakes that anyone who watches the movie can simply find it.
All the best for your next film and try to make it some realistic. But I agree with you the story was extremely great.
The film hs a good storyline overall jst the director would hv made it more intense n made the comedy portions more funny n meaningful..Gives a great message in the ending, a good one time watch.

You can go for this movie, if you wanna paas your time with friends or family or with anyone. I can say it's a family movie. Is it Horror? Is it Romance? Is it Comedy? Ohh lord which genre is this? Not that well balanced things, still you can go for it without keeping any expectations.
Screenplay was really slow, it could have 1.30hr movie, they unnecessarily stretched it to more 30mins. Abhay Deol's acting was good but I'll say he shouldn't have sign this movie. Music was above average. So I'm going with 6 out of 10 Stars, because you can go for it with family.

Either make a horror movie or a comedy or a romantic. But in the process of mixing these three, you guys made a disaster. Total illogical stuff.
I wonder they have hired people to rate this in IMDB.
People WORNING. Don't get fooled by the IMDB rating for this movie
A horror movie generally evokes visuals of an old haveli, or ruins, a white-sari-clad hair-blowing crooning female ghost, eerie sounds from around etc but "Nanu Ki Jaanu" is away from all this. It's a movie with a difference where horror has been presented with doses of humour.
The film carries a message in the end that i shall refrain from telling as it would be a spoiler.
In our daily running about to earn a living, many a times we think of going out for dinner or a movie to relax ourselves- if that is so, i assure you to watch Nanu Ki Jaanu- it is a laugh riot. Yes, by the end, you will get a little emotional too, but all in all, it's a comedy. Horror comedy.
The film has memorable characters, be it the building's watchman (Ganesh Kumar), or the abusive husband (Sameer Siddique) or the pitiable wife (Aditi Kalkunte). The performance of Manu Rishi (who is also the film's writer) as one of Abhay's friend's is superb. Abhay himself has played a character that is away from his usual and he has done an outstanding job at that. Patralekhaa, who one wishes could have got some more screen time, has played her character quite admirably.
Rajesh Sharma as the father of a single daughter is brilliant! Gifted actors such as Brijendra Kala, who has portrayed the character of a neighbour and as always is first-rate, should have got more screen space. Manoj Pahwa has a guest appearance but as we know, talented actors only need a few minutes to leave their mark.
The songs are good- especially the love song though it could have been shot better. Dhruv Dhalla's background score is very good! Kashyap Chandhock's casting is unique and very effective. The actors leave a lasting impression even with their bit roles, such as the watchman's scene with Abhay asking him for a drink, or his naughty smile, or his Ghost Buster cameo. Or be it Mahendra Shrivas as the kachoriwala or Himani Shivpuri's full justice to the role of the mother. Chirag Sethi has done a fair job. The Special kid, played by Spandan Chaturvedi of Tv Serial Udan fame is brilliant .
Faraz Haider's direction is good; the film keeps you hooked till the end.
Mika's song, which is quite good and has also been filmed equally well, should have been part of the regular narrative of the story rather than being in the end. I am personally not in favour of the current trend of end credit songs because most people do not stay on to watch it.
The Jagran scene could have been better. The song filmed on Sapna Choudhary was not catchy.
I have seen the film twice and even the second time, i found it as much enjoyable. You should also watch the film at least once; in fact share your own reviews!
All in all, Inbox Pictures "Nanu Ki Jaanu" is a great film. It could have done with slightly greater publicity and promotion. Its direction, dialogue delivery and characters leave the audience in splits! I wish the film a super hit!

I don't know how IMDb has rated this movie an 8.9 but this movie is so absurd and lack lustre that it's a pain to watch it entirely. The plot is crazy. The concept is good but the execution is very poor and Abhay Deol being such an underrated and good actor needs to do better movies with a good storyline and plot. Horribleness at it's best.

What a pathetic attempt of spreading a social message. Please don't waste time watching this. Rating is fake too. This message could have been better in a one minute tvc.
War Chod Na Yaar flop fame Faraz Haider is at it again. All his concepts sound great on paper, execution looks like someone from audience without experience decided to make it for him. Frankly, I saw it because of Abhay Deol. I thought he could do no wrong. He couldn't be part of a ridiculous project. But he has risen to the occasion and surprised me badly. I got pissed off with the movie maybe because I was expecting too much because of him..I cant say...but I would advise to refrain from this failed experiment.

What a clean and real humor in the film a full family entertainer .dialouges are hillerious and direction is superb and abhay what a performance in such a difficult charecter . The story is adobted from pissasu but i think the writer and the director made it very differently amd made very entertaining .full marks to the whole team little dissapointed in the climax scene but its ok ..because rest of the film was too good .as we know abhay always gives something different this film also very unique. Some people are writing bad things in the review pls dont go with them just watch this film you will get to know how good is this film .

Direction:
War Chod Na Yaar fame Faraz Haider has come up with remake of Tamil cinema Pissaasu. He want to spread social message about use of mobile phones while driving and use of helmets by Horror comedy however script does not go well.
Performance:
Abhay Deol is back to cinema after gap of 2 years and audience was expecting something really good one but different one. This movie was not definitely good choice for Abhay's comeback. His performance is also not upto the mark with his last movies. Patralekha was good in short role but she can act better than this. Only one guy impressed the audience with perfect comic timing was Manu Rishi. Rajesh Sharma was totally wasted for this movie.
Script:
Manu Rishi tried to improve the script of Pisaasu but it ended with illogical horror comedy. First half was written better as you will laugh more in first half than second half.
Music:
Music composed by Gunwant Sen, Sachin Gupta and Babli Huque-Meera while lyrics are penned by Abid Ali, Danish Sabri, Sonu Saggu, Sajid Qureshi and Sachin Gupta. Music failed to impress even Sapna choudhary's song was wastage of time.
Last words:
Wait for World TV premier of this movie.

Pissassu is a well crafted, subtly acted, masterfully etched visual treat. It was unique and this adaptation totally ruins that story !
Avoid like the plague.

Nanu Ki Jaanu: A Mixed Bag of Horror and Comedy
Nanu Ki Jaanu attempts to blend horror and comedy, but unfortunately, the execution falls short. While there are moments of genuine humor, the film often struggles to find its footing, leading to a disjointed viewing experience.
Abhay Deol's performance as the titular character is commendable, bringing a certain charm to the role. His chemistry with the ghostly Patralekhaa is also enjoyable. However, the script, which feels rushed and underdeveloped, fails to do justice to the actors' talents.
The film's horror elements are predictable and often rely on jump scares, which can be tiresome after a while. The comedic aspects, while occasionally funny, often feel forced and out of place. The balance between horror and humor is off, resulting in a film that neither truly scares nor fully entertains.
Ultimately, Nanu Ki Jaanu is a missed opportunity. While it has its moments, it fails to deliver a satisfying and cohesive viewing experience. Fans of Abhay Deol's work might find it worth watching, but those looking for a truly engaging horror-comedy might be disappointed.

A nice paranormal story of a gangster hero haunted by the ghost of a person accidentally killed by him. Very well picturised and enacted. However the ending was somewhat disappointing.
