Unfortunately unsung (except by me, who has sung her praises ad infinitum on IMDb), British filmmaker Anjali Kara scores another success with this 2015 daring! Media release, apparently her most recent video in these waning days of interest in Couples porn and DVDs in general.

She has accomplished something Jacky St. James and numerous imitators, including her stablemate at daring! named Ken Docherty/Kendo, in delving into the invented "hot wife" phenomenon and bringing out an interesting treatment of same.

The secret of Anjali's success, and what sets her stylish features apart from so many similar but generic porn videos, is that with a minimum of dialog/characterization she pilots performances wherein the players actually remain in character. The lion's share of 21st Century porn, even in the hands of talented filmmakers, consists of set-up scenes that are tenuous at best, mere preludes to the seasoned sex workers "going into their dance" -namely humping for its own sake. But Anjali's scenes are organic and continuous, with the dialog spilling over into banter during sex IN CHARACTER, and no line between the NonSex and XXX sections.

Main framework here consists of two ladies, played by Holly Kiss and Summer Rose, comparing notes in the kitchen while sipping wine, setting up flashbacks that depict themselves and their friends indulging in the hotwifing phenomenon. It's a form of swinging, predicated on the fairly dubious premise of husbands digging the practice of lending out their better halves to other men and getting off vicariously on witnessing or hearing tale of the sexual performance that results. Like the self- Cuckold genre, it's a form of porn that is silly and unconvincing but somehow popular in these decadent times.

Casting unfamiliar talent like Holly and Summer was a wise move, backed up by Anjali's bringing in more familiar stars like Sienna Day, Karlie Simon and busty Tia Layne to arouse the viewer. The five vignettes fit together fairly well, and a some interesting interior design work, notably an arresting wooden double staircase used as a backdrop for sex.

One structural element to the DVD was most surprising: Anjali incorporates in one of the voice-over flashbacks just a few seconds of Karlie's interracial encounter with Sensi, prior to her humping her husband. (This is part of the film's main theme of how hotwifing is not as silly as it first seems, but acts as a powerful stimulant to the main couple's own love life.) With fleeting images of explicit sex, the Sensi (uncredited) footage seems a rather extravagant porn staging to elicit just seconds of running time. Perhaps Anjali or daring! has the complete say 20-minute coupling in the vaults for future use, though I prefer to think of this as a welcome artistic indulgence for the good of the feature as a whole.
