The production was filmed over two days, the first in rural woodland in northern Westmeath and the second high up in the Dublin Mountains.
The short was extrapolated from a feature film script that Matthew Jones had written in December 2016, with the name of the protagonist remaining the same, as 'Sparky'.
The goggles used for Georgia Bealtaine's costume were genuine WWII aviator goggles that Matthew Jones discovered in an antique shop in Dublin. Similarly, the gas mask wore by Cilléin McEvoy in his striking introduction also dates back to the Second World War, having been purchased in the same store.
