After the success of Planet Earth, there has been a proliferation of these beautiful nature series. Honestly, I confused this one with Wild Pacific. When the first episode ended, I kept waiting for Over the Rainbow and wondered where it went. Such is the nature of these nature series. They are starting to blend together. In fact, I can't tell if I've seen some of these segments already. This PBS show has five episodes; Mysterious, Violent, Voracious, Passionate, and Behind The Scenes. It's a different way to tell the tale. Like others of its kind, it's a lot of jumping around from one location to the next. Some segments are more memorable than others. It's all beautifully shoot. It can't go wrong when it's this great looking.

Beautiful and interesting. However the background music is often much louder than the narration. Each episode includes new information. The closeups and clarity of the video are incredible. Too bad the music makes it so difficult to watch.
I started out this Saturday am to watch only the first episode. By this afternoon I had finished them all. Daniel Dae Kim's voice is wonderful as the narrator. Pure velvet. I appreciate the imposition of a map of the region coming up in each segment. I am looking forward to the next documentary and am sure this one will be watched again. This one could have easily had many more episodes.
