Ok, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece with a 3.8 rating on IMDB but this , this surpassed my imagination by a mile , should have set the bar lower than ground zero.
The top billed actor doesn't show up until a good 30 minutes into the film, has so little screen time it could be easily termed an extended camio.
After seeing many horror films and reading materials of this genre I could make a guess as to what was the explanation for all that but seriously wasn't that the film's responsibility to do the explanation? Not like spoon feeding the audience but like making sense of everything.
It really hurts to see Eduardo Noriega in something so poorly made. He is better than this, he deserves better than this.
Film was made like 3 years ago, released only this year in thetres in Mexico and now on Netflix - making it evident nothing good was to come out of it.
But it goes beyond that, it hurts to see a film this bad.

The first 5 minutes make me thought "this will be a good movie", but I was wrong, this movie sucks, looks like a mexican soap opera, with scenes that were made to be scare but they were not, it is ridiculous. Very bad scripting and directing.

I've just turned off the Netflix after watching 25 minutes of this horrible movie. I'm not sure why would they allow such BS movie on their platform. A friendly reminder to myself: visit IMDB before watching any movie!

I cannot believe I wasted my time with it. This is one of the worst things I've ever looked at. Please note that I am including everything else I have laid my eyes on since I was born. This is so trash. If I were the people who worked on this movie, I would be ashamed to leave my house. I would change my name and move to another country.
I want to start a campaign for Netflix to remove it from its catalog, because this is an insult to all of the other movies there (good and bad). It is so terrible I wanna cry. Seriously, PLEASE DO NOT WATCH IT. Do anything else. Walk your dog, exercise, do chores. But please do not waste your time, like I did (sad song).

Truly awful film had to switch it off 44 mins in. The fact it was dubbed added to the abysmal acting.

This movie... Totally disaster. Effects poor, actors tragic, plot jumps everywhere, no sense, random episodes. Like what did I just watch? Don't watch it... Please, save your time....

Two sisters get hold of a demonic book and read from it aloud. Obviously, they should not have. The consequences lead one sister to seek help from an exorcist who has unexpected connections.
Quite good actually, some new twists on the typical demon possession story. The characters are unusually fleshed out. Some gore, some jump scenes, but is foremost carried forward by the story. On the negative side, the film is a bit short and quite a few threads are kept loose at the end. There are some very obvious cliches used, but I do feel they are overall used consciously and playfully.
So, an overall good film to watch.

Such a waste of time.... Was so boring and ridiculously funny at the same time. Scenario that does not make sense and the acting under the average...

Really, who does a movie like this? How can Netflix do trash like this? Give me back the time I wasted 😠
The ones that casted these people (actors if you would call them that) must be the worst in the industry and the director, have no words. Feel sorry for the editors that had nothing good to edit

You will see why if you give this film a go. Obviously a low budget film, nothing horror about it, I spent most of the time laughing.

I barley watched the first 30 minutes of the film and I was already dismayed by the lack of realism of the scenario (which accordingly removes the frightening atmosphere from the movie) and by the poor quality acting. If you don't even feel fear in the characters' reaction, you're not feeling anxious watching the movie either. I actually stopped watching the movie before the end because there was no tension.

This Mexican horror film opens with a priest performing an exorcism on a child; it doesn't go well and the child dies. The body is then dumped. Thirty years later a university lecturer acquires an ancient text. She locks it up but her daughters find it and realise it is a book for summoning ancient evil of the kind described by horror writer H. P. Lovecraft; they, along with one of their boyfriends, read it anyway. Soon afterwards one of the girls starts to act strangely. Her parents seek medical advice but her sister approaches a priest, who with his adopted son, hunt down demons.
While this is hardly a great film I'm surprised at just how low it is rated. The story is decent enough and while the effects are a bit ropey, the editing a bit messy and the acting merely okay it has some good scary moments. These moments include certain fairly gory scenes. At only eighty minutes in length the film hardly overstays its welcome. Overall I'd say this is certainly flawed but it still passes the time well enough if you are a fan of the genre.
These comments are based on watching the film in Spanish with English subtitles.

Disaster. Fail in story. Missing peaces in the story. How the sister got possesed, how the boy was alive, why he got shot and what that accomplished.
Why was this movie made at all?

This belongs to the top 10 worst movies I've seen. It's impossible to feel any sympathy for any of the characters, there are no actual demons whatsoever, the plot is messy, and the female protagonists feel more like birch wood planks rather than humans. Disgusting movie, don't watch, unless you are depressed like me and want to watch something thats is by far worse than your life.

Karl as a character is highly annoying and really badly conveyed, by the hammy acting and awful costume. The dragging on the cigarette shots are tedious - doesn't make him look intimidating, or mysterious. Just more like some scruffy college emo kid, sucking on a joint at a party, in the hope some crush he fancies will be watching, and thinks he looks cool. The script and acting is also pretty terrible. Especially when the parents return home to find the priest there. Overall a very over done concept, that brought nothing new or original to the table. No scares. Some gore but so over done it's comical. I found myself feeling very bored and felt no connection to a y of the characters whatsoever. They are very pooy developed. As it was dubbed as well I think this made it feel like it was more badly acted than it was probably portrayed in its original dialogue.

I've actually never cared to give a review to any sort of content ever in my life but this movie had a success in doing that.
Bad voice overs, unnecessary and irrelevant background music, one of the worst recommended movie on my wall by Netflix.
The movie contain only predictable horror scene (which I'm saying as it says it is a horror movie) and the director has not put any efforts in giving any sort of thriller, horror or chilling turn to make it more exciting to watch.
I would request Netflix team to hire some crazy Movie screening team for recommending marvel-lous stuff on Netflix wall (I think I just talked about myself).
XD
To be really honest, it was really disappointing to watch this movie alone.
