Special kids means special properties, means strange action to reaction, and most of all a film about being different and not looking like the a4-format that people expects.
its a case of severe hyperhirsotism that has struck the main caracter, its a gene-defect-syndrome, that makes the hair grow everywhere and that is actually from day one. its a rare disease but nevertheless its real, and them have to live a life among us sorthaired for the rest of their lives, even though this film have a fun and a sad anglification, where going bananas seems allright, so its a reminder to all of us that life aint easy.
i think this film was a bit slow and lame, nothing new genericaly, but the production design and make up artists has done a good job, and the lightworks are excellent..acting are as average as expected, and i feel that the caracterbuilding was abit slim.
but its a nice film without profanity or sex or nudity, so it may be a sort of caracterbuilder for small kids as a familydrama. the grumpy old man give 6 even though i know it will become a classic.

"I don't want to meet others like me."
-"Why?"
"Because I hate me"
I honestly had no high expectations to be completely honest but this was surprising. It is a really good coming of age story, that has a very unique twist on the whole not fit in Athough it follow the same tropes, it does feel fresh, and exciting mainly because of the direction, which is honestly really good. it is veryentertaining and enjoyable and have a very universal message, and it is very heartwarming and beautiful with gorgeous cinematography. The performances by the cast are great and it has a very wholsome and beautiful ending. The first act is a bit rushed but the 2nd and 3rd act are really great.

This is a touching story about a boy who tries to navigate a very hard life. It's not as bleak as it could be, which is a good thing.
There's several underlying themes in this movie. From being an outcast, to someone feeling alien in their own body, the want to be accepted for being our true selves. But it all felt very literal and there were a lot of old and used tropes that dragged it down from what could have been an amazing film.

The lead male young actor was good actor. Like others reviews, the make-up was great. I was shocked of the girl, not expecting that. The age of both was not expecting where they regularly patrons. The baddie was of course cheesy but played what written well. Have no clue why Chloë Sevigny has first billing as five minutes in film. Don't care if more star, longer in business, past roles, It was deceiving, should be fixed.
It's a good movie with great acting specially from Jaeden, but a lot of things in the story didn't make sence.

I had the pleasure of catching this fun adventure tale at the Woodstock Film Festival. AWESOME CROWDPLEASER! See this wonderful little tale!
I thought this film just slowly ticked along, nothing engaging, rather flat. The character of aristiana was supposed to be a trans character who wanted to be a female but it was so obviously played by a female and gave no authenticity to the character or the story. Beyond ridiculously dumb move by casting. The film did not have enough scope to engage with any of the characters, they all just fizzled into nothing and gave absolutely no insight. A waste of time really.
Is it a full moon outside? Because today I am howling that you need to check out The True Adventures of Wolfboy! This film is one big emotional journey that is extremely important for every young adult to see. Some movies might have a few lessons here and there, but this film is one big lesson. It might seem like a normal movie, but actually there is much more in the big picture. The film addresses many lessons or morals plus it has outstanding acting and amazing costume and makeup designs.
The True Adventures of Wolfboy follows a 13-ear-old boy named Paul (Jaeden Martell) who suffers from hypertrichosis. This disease makes it so you have abnormal hair growth around your body. For Paul, growing up, he ends up being called a version of a werewolf or dog. Of course, no one ever wants this to happen to themself, so it makes it extremely hard for Paul. One day, he receives a gift from his estranged mother, telling him to come find her because she has an explanation for everything. This leads Paul to go on a journey, not just a physical journey, but an emotional journey of self-acceptance.
As you can imagine, it must take a lot of makeup to make someone look like a wolf boy so naturally, the makeup department's work to make Jaeden Martell look like a wolf boy is extraordinary. Another great aspect of this film is the acting. John Turturro's portrayal of Mr. Silk is especially astounding, because he makes his character stand out and appear so authentic that you will remember his character long after the credits roll.
The True Adventures of Wolfboy includes some profanity, including one F-word, some under-age drinking, bullying and mild-violence. However, the movie is one very big lesson teaching viewers to be comfortable in your own skin. No matter what you think, you are amazing - plain and simple. Any differences you have just make you special and you should embrace them. This movie is a must-see for anyone who is struggling with themselves, because it helps you come to grips with who you are and reminds you how amazing you truly are.
I am howling that my rating for The True Adventures of Wolfboy is 5 out of 5 stars because of the emotional journey the film takes you on and because of the life-changing morals and theme. I recommend The True Adventures of Wolfboy for ages 12-18, plus adults, because of the language and sensitive topics. Reviewed by Jude A., KIDS FIRST!

An unusual tale with unexpected turns. Good acting and a story to make you think.
Really beautiful film, deserves to be better known.
This film deserves to win many awards, but it won't because it isn't big enough in the modern scheme of things. The cinematography was stunning and the locations were strangely beautiful. Production was great and the acting was excellent. Once again Jaeden Martell was totally brilliant.

So the premise here is a 13-ish boy was born with a condition that results in excess hair all over his body. His face is so hairy that he resembles a Werewolf. When asked if he could shave it off he replies that it just grows back thicker. Naturally he gets a lot of taunting from his classmates and wicked looks from strangers. As a result he usually wore a type of ski mask allowing him to see and eat.
When he discovers something he decides to take a road trip and find his mother who apparently abandoned him when he was very young. Part of his trip is a brief stint with a small circus, as a curiosity. He hooks up with a 12-ish girl from his neighborhood and a girl old enough to drive. Lots of mischief ensues.
The whole movie is whimsical and for me that works very well. I enjoyed the movie and the characters, it deals with the serious subject of accepting who you are but in an entertaining manner. I watched it at home on Amazon streaming.
MILD SPOILERS: When he eventually does find his mom he also finds her dad, his grandfather and in meeting him better understands his own heritage. He also gains a new outlook regarding his own personal issues. They have a good visit, the boy will mend.

First of to respond to an uneducated review, Sophie giannamore is trans. She is a trans actor playing a trans role.
The film was beautifully shot with an interesting narrative. We have all felt like outcasts in our lives and have longed for a place to fit. The journey is one so many can relate to even with its modern fairy tale type narrative split into multiple chapters
Is it perfect? No but it is worth a watch. The young actors are brilliant and moving and you feel for them as they grow through their shared journey.
A nice little indie film to spend a couple hours with and just get swept away in the tale.

Everyone can feel that way, but with a disease like this, it's easier to do so. It's a nice portrayal of how personality can be distorted from bullying, or from even overprotecting, making them feel different even whan you don't want to do anything bad.
A nice, emotional road-movie, with a little bit one-dimensional storyline and even more so in the dialogues, and I also find this kinds of encounters (a boy like this with a girl like that...) a bit far-fetched, but I understand why they did it.
John Turturro is one of my all-time favourites, him playing was a pleasent surprise for me, even though he wasn't really neccessary.
