The film is based on the same-titled graphic novel "ENDZEIT" (2018).
The Movie is set between Weimar and Jena, because the author of the graphic novel Olivia Vieweg commuted between her university in Weimar and her home in Jena.
The film premiered at TIFF in Toronto in September 2018.
