Love stories do not take place in montages. This simple fact should be clear to anyone with half a brain, yet alone a professional movie director, yet here we are... with a supposedly finished film with lots and lots of 'highlight' reels of a young couple eating, talking, laughing and having piggyback rides with nothing but a grating female voice warbling some of the most asinine lyrics ever in the background.
I mean, it's great if you want to avoid putting anything of actual substance in your film, such as convincing character development and real emotional depth, but for those hoping to become absorbed into the proceeding on a dramatic level, I'm afraid it's a bit of a failure.
Well in truth 'bit of a failure' is being unbelievably charitable to this highly tedious dross, and when you hear a lot of the stiff dialogue and witness for yourself some of the stiff-as-a-board performances, you'll eventually reach the same conclusions I did: maybe the montages weren't quite as bad as you thought.
Anything would be better than having to tolerate our uncharismatic leads complete lack of chemistry, and hearing their smalltalk with each others brings to mind being stuck in a lift with a particularly annoying car salesman.
To round things off, this is an Indie film, and so deserves a modicum of praise for being made at all, outside the occasionally constrictive Hollywood set-up. There are certain incidences though, when a 'brave, bold' vision is in all actuality complete bunk, and you'd be better off sticking with bland formula. Now I wonder what I could be referring to...? 1/10

THE VIEW FROM HERE pulls you in dramatically, just like the views from San Francisco! From the opening frame, I loved the look of "The City" that was captured and I felt it really matched the drama that unfolded on screen. I also loved the quirky production design and the chemistry between the lead actors was on point. The script and dialogue were also really well done, not cliché like so many indie drama's, even going so far as to allow some nice funny moments which only lent more realism to the "slice of life" story and characters. Highly recommend!

The View From Here is a great film that pulls you in from the beginning. The lead characters are just quirky enough to be relatable and sympathetic; you root for them, and their heartbreak is your heartbreak. Kellen and Dorée draw you in to the relationship of their characters with charming, witty dialogue and great camera angles that keep you engaged. The set in San Francisco is beautiful, and the mix of music is appealing to all audiences. I highly recommend this film!

Movie was captivating and held my attention. Nice view for an evening at home movie. Actor and Actress played their parts well.
Cute movie. Great acting and story line. It's too bad they didn't have access to a full processional kitchen; I think that would have really added to the movie. All in all though, I really liked it.

Great story line! Clean, funny and moving, which can be hard to get these days. Loved how the flashbacks perfectly told the story and developed the main characters' relationship. Indie film so it isn't without its flaws, but overall the movie is captivating and one you want to watch till the very end.

Omg that "I love you" scene literally happened to me in my real life! This film has a lot of heart behind it. I really enjoy the chemistry between the two leads. I also really like to see the city, San Francisco, as a character as well in the film. I never felt like the story was slow and the story really moved along. Well done.

Yes. The Film is an Independent piece of work that does not compare to the big Hollywood budget films in it's genre but it definitely has a lot of heart. The overall photography was pretty well done and the story too. The actors could have been better. It seems like they struggled with there performances many times here and there. I thought that the direction was great minus the acting which was ok. I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't that bad as others mention online. Plus, it's an Indie Film so don't expect sold out box office results. It's more for those who appreciate these type of films and enjoys watching them and supporting the creators of such works. I'd say watch it for yourselve first, then make your OWN judgment.

Great writing! The dialogue was on point and the beautiful acting brought it to life masterfully. I loved the imagery of the city -- it really elevated the feeling that this was a real world we were watching. The story was great and the chemistry between the actors had me totally drawn in. Highly recommend!
