Well most of the time people in this show make silly mistakes leading to massive disasters. As such is life I suppose but wow one episode the guy has a pocket knife thats garbage and the other the woman leaves her cell phone and another they have nothing to scare the bear off, like idk a loud noise making device of some kind? I mean seriously so many mistakes! Guess that's why it's appearing on the show though so go figure. Lessons learned though don't just stand around as a bear charges you throw down a noise making device to spook the heck outta it or something.

In my secular job, and also through difficult situations I have been in, I have been forced to research intensely, weather supposed stories are true or false. With this show, I went in to several documented accounts, using the names of the victims of the attacks. Each one was spot on as to what happened. After a several months, skin grafts taken from other parts of the body will not be noticeable. The man who was attacked by a Grizzly made several mistakes. Climb a tree only if the Bear is coming towards you, but he is far away, and it is easy to climb the tree. Never look in a Grizzly Bears eyes. If you see a Grizzly, and he does not see you, walk back wards slowly the opposite direction of the Bear. If he looks at you, you cannot out run him. Stay where you are. If he walks toward you, look down at his feet no matter how close he gets. More than likely he will check you out. If he gets close, speak in a soft voice. If he attacks, play dead immediately. Lay on your side with your hands over your head. It is possible you will be chewed on and torn up real bad, but in most cases people do not die when they do this. Yes, you can still be crippled for life. If the Bear was trying to mate with a female, or it's baby is close by, or if it is very hungry, that may be all she wrote. But sometimes the bear will leave. One more thing: If you escape with no injuries, you may need to change your shorts when you get home.

I've watched every single episode with fascination and awe at the power of nature, the resilience of these human beings, and the miracle of modern medicine. The simplicity of the production -- one survivor gives their firsthand account of being mauled half to death by a wild animal -- honors the primal theme of the drama. The stories told here could have been told since the dawn of time, a brush with a gory and terrifying death in the wilderness. Although the miracles performed by medical personnel today make many of these stories tales of survival when they would have most likely been fatal tragedies even a century ago. Each episode left me with a feeling of gratitude for life and limb, respect for nature, and admiration for the strength of the survivors. My family likes to wager at the beginning whether the survivor returns to the activity that got them bitten in the first place. They always say at the end. Always interesting to see what makes life worth living for people.

I just saw the show that was about the girl who was attacked by a black panther. She made a comment close to the end of her story that some people say there aren't any black panthers in Texas well there aren't as man as there use to be but they are here I've seen them and lots of other people. Just wanted her to know that lots of people here will believe her. And as for the person who said he didn't see any scars on the people must not of seen this show. And plastic surgeons do wonders for scars these days. I don't really have a rating just wanted her to know lots of people in Texas believe her.

Would be a very good show but some idiot thought it would be good to skip from story to story just telling little parts of each at a time. By showing it in this confusing fashion by the end of the show you don't know if a guy in Florida got attacked by a Polar Bear or someone in Alaska got attacked by a Alligator.
I just discovered this show 2 weeks ago and I find it riveting. I've been going through On Demand watching the episodes available there. I'm hooked on it.
Every single episode and story in this series is fake. These people claiming they've been mauled by various wild animals don't have a single scar on them. Some even point to their arms or necks during the show and say 'I could feel my bones crushing' when there is no one cut even visible. In one of the episodes, a guy says 'and there it was, a fully grown 400-pound grizzly bear'. One, grizzly bears can weigh 50% more than this; and, two, how did he know it was 400 pounds? My point is, every story uttered in this hogwash is nothing but a script masquerading as a real-life account. Even Urban Tarzan seems more realistic.
You want to see what a wild animal attack really looks like? Look up Charla Nash (she survived a chimp attack who happened to be her neighbour's pet). A bear could kill a chimp with one swipe of its arms, but, surprisingly, all those 'attacked' by bears in the show have perfect bodies. And there are those who have been attacked by hyenas, wolves and even sharks! Sharks? Yet they show zero signs of scars or bruising? Yes, yes, very believable. And I am a werewolf.
I am not saying humans cannot survive being mauled by various animals, but it would leave long-lasting effects on one's physical body that onlookers would cringe from the view. Please show some respect to viewers and to wildlife alike, and stop producing shows to generate money that are based on lies.

I watched a couple of episodes and you can tell these are actors/actresses. They are speaking in a deliberate way. And there were no scars. And how can a racoon knock down a woman who weighs much more than the racoon. And no one heard he is so absurd. Her neighbors are in close proximity. And if the guy was actually a park ranger he would know how to get away from a mountain lion. They are trained for that. AGAIN FAKE FAKE FAKE.. Animal Planet should air shows only with animal experts who are telling us about animals not fake stupid stuff. However there so many other shows that are fake fake fake just like this show.
