Patrick Stewart had a body double for the close up shots of him playing piano since he has bad arthritis.
They filmed most of the movie in Montreal, and 10 days in Switzerland.
Patrick Stewart spent 3-4 months learning to play piano, in order to look like he could play it in the film.
The final London concert was originally slated for the Royal Albert Hall.
The movie opens with the conclusion of Beethoven's Sonata Appassionata 3rd movement, performed by Serhiy Salov and portrayed by Patrick Stewart as the fictional character Sir Henry Cole.
