6/10 - some pretty terrible acting (except for Charmin Lee), but good choreography

Street dancing cheese, but not all that horrible. Teyana might be the most believable dancer and actress of the lot // the others seem to be faking one or the other.

I love dance movies from Center Stage right up to Step Up but this movie is such a let down. I loved the first Honey movie so many moves from it were used in dance competitions. When it was first released it was new, fresh and exciting for young dancers to copy Honey and make it their own feeling confident on the floor. Personally I hope to never see 90% of the choreography in this movie in a competition or dance movie again, its not dancing when all you're doing is feeling yourself and shaking your ass. Granted both can be incorporated into a routine but they should not be all of what it is comprised of. If this is the future of dance movies and Hip Hop dance in general I feel truly sorry for future generations of upcoming dancers.

One of the worst movie I've ever seen... pretty sure they casted strippers as dancers and just overall a mess. Disappointing.
This is the new Step Up. It brings dancing and music to the next level. It's hard to resist the temptation and not start doing some moves. It got everything from action to characters just right. I loved the battles also. The crews were "lit" and they lifted up the spirits. So, so good!

Higher rating for the music only. Unlikable characters, choreography from the strip club and stale acting. Just watch Save the Last Dance 2 and stop at Honey 2. Better everything with similar storylines, but with more substance and culture.
I can't lie: I've hated the "Honey" franchise. The dancing is always basic and the storylines were never great. I guess you don't really watch Honey for that.
This movie, though, was solid. It was nice to watch people who danced and looked to enjoy it. The chemistry among the cast throughout this film was noticeably better, too. I still wish the storyline was stronger but I did enjoy it.

I was a fan of both leads in this movie but oh my god this movie seems like it has them at their worst the acting felt off from the start even the supporting actors (the dancers) had a very weird vibe at times it felt like I was watching a soap opera episode. The storyline could have been better. Some of the scenes you can tell were edited without realising it wouldn't make sense. Don't waste your time watching
I put this movie on as a joke. Based on the title, it seems like any other typical, low quality dance movie. I was wrong. THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING. The soundtrack, the dancing, the character chemistry. First time I've written an IMDB review because I want credit given wher credit is due.

Terrible stereotyped boring hip-hop dancing film. All the female actors/dancers filled up those roles just looked pretty cheap, showing cheap sexual movements like street walkers, very filthy and dirty dancing skills on every soundtrack. The carp-mouthed & lipped leading actor and all of those females didn't give you any pure dancing aesthetic but sexual flesh and meat tricks, making the so-called Hip-Hop dance more like the other way to pimp around. I like this specific dance and love it what we have seen in "So You Think You Can Dance" and some of the other similar genre dancing movies, but not this one. It just felt cheap and abject, rustic and wild. The film itself also showed its limit in script and scenario.

The movie isn't bad, but Mr.Gray needs to step his acting skills in this film. Ms.Taylor clearly was going more harder in this role than him.

I like to say I understand about movies and film making, and this movie has many flaws. Technical aspects such as music and light are ok, nothing special
But the story and the characters are way too generic, boring and annoying to be real people. These characters are just generic movie characters written by script writers that obey to movie stereotypes and have no human emotions or rational thought
I am no dancer nor am I familiarized with the evolution of modern hip hop, but I thought the dancing was good for the most part
The thing that annoyed me the most about the dances is that the sequences never last more than 5 seconds, so any dancer that would like to replicate the choreography would not be able to do it, since every 5 seconds, the movie cuts to a different routine where the same characters are suddenly in different places of the stage dancing something different to the same song. So besides of not being a good movie for movie enthusiasts, it's not even dancer friendly
This movie has already been done a million times, yet didn't innovate a single thing considering other similar movies. All the dancers were good, and their potential was not fully broadcasted in this film, which is a shame...

The dancing in this movie is terrible, just like one reviewer wrote it's nothing but just touching themselves. It really did look like they hired a bunch of strippers to make this movie. I'm a big fan of dance, hip hop to be specific, movies and this one was just a disappointment.

The female dancers in this movie danced worse than strippers. Flopping on the floor, twerking. No real dancing, bad music, horrible choreography, bad acting and ghetto English.

My expectations of this film was already pretty low when I saw the main cast, but it exceeded well beyond my expectations by being even lower than what I was expecting.
I knew not to go into this thinking it would ever be as good as Save the last Dance or Step Up but I thought the dancing would have at least been ok with Teyana Taylor starring in it.
The dancing was God-awful. They should have gotten Ciara for the main role because she can really move her body in ways that Teyana failed to do which is a shame because Teyana Taylor is a trained dancer.
And why get Hakeem from Empire in this role? He can barely rap on Empire let alone dance. They could have gotten Trevor Jackson or Chris Brown for that role. And don't get me started on the weak ass corny ass plot.
This was just all kinds of bad. But I guess you can't really expect much when it's on Netflix and obviously had a very low budget to work with.
Watch at your own discretion.

If you want a study in primitive culture, this is the movie for you. Lots of gyrating, brachiating knuckle-scrapers.

There are so many horrible Honey movies. I like this one. Yes, its not perfect but I think Teyana was great. I've seen a lot worse in dance movies.
