The trilogy is based on the classical fantasy novel, Fengshenyanyi, which is the only mythical epic in Chinese literature history that originated from real historical events, and was greatly enriched and fabricated with vast imagination and fiction, when it was passed down the generations by storytellers over the last two thousand years, and finally became a classic. All materials came from local Chinese history and culture. It is indeed the No.1 mythical fiction of China.
During pre-productions, Director Wuershan went to America and New Zealand to visit top-level special effects companies and post-production companies, including ILM, Weta Digital, Weta Workshop and Park Road Post Production. He also consulted creative experiences with Peter Jackson, the producer of The Lord of The Rings Trilogy-Barrie M. Osborne, and one of the producers of The Matrix franchise-Grant Hill, and finally formed an international production team.
There are two scenes in the middle of the end credits, but the second is made up of 2 different sequences, so technically there would be 3 post-credits scenes.
