Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator (1984)
New ‘Terminator’ Game ‘Terminator 2D: No Fate’ Leaked for PC, Consoles
Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator (1984)
After bringing Terminator: Resistance to fans back in 2019, Reef Entertainment are set to return with another Terminator game, thanks to the Australian Classification website. A listing has been discovered for an as-yet-unannounced title called Terminator 2D: No Fate, which is slated for release on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Details on the game are nominal for the moment (seeing as it’s unannounced), but it appears that Reef Entertainment will be developing and publishing Terminator 2D: No Fate, as opposed to having Teyon handling development duties (which they did for Terminator: Resistance).

If you haven’t played Terminator: Resistance, the game features an original story based on The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, nearly 30 years after Judgment Day, Resistance expands upon the Future War glimpsed at in the films, and introduces a new hero, Jacob Rivers,...

Géza Röhrig
Poetry and loss by Anne-Katrin Titze
Géza Röhrig
Géza Röhrig in Richard Kroehling’s After: Poetry Destroys Silence: “It was really quite a magic tree there on the shore.”

I first met Géza Röhrig when László Nemes introduced us at the Universal Pictures brunch in The Vault of the St. Regis for Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs, starring Michael Fassbender as Jobs with Jeff Daniels as Steve Wozniak and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld.

Géza Röhrig played Saul Ausländer in László Nemes’s Oscar-winning Son Of Saul. He played Georges, the cousin of Marcel Marceau (Jesse Eisenberg) in Jonathan Jakubowicz’s Resistance, and Shmuel opposite Matthew Broderick in Shawn Snyder’s To Dust (co-written with Jason Begue and co-produced by Alessandro Nivola and Emily Mortimer).

Géza Röhrig with Anne-Katrin Titze on The Way Of The Wind: “Obviously it has been edited forever, and we all know that Terrence Malick is a maestro.”

I tried Star Wars' Extended Universe thanks to friends sharing what they love
Image
Star Wars Legends, or the Extended Universe (EU), has always been a gaping hole in my Star Wars lore. I didn't grow up with the EU like many fans in the 90s did, mostly because I didn't fully become a Star Wars fan until college. I am a weirdo, and The Clone Wars movie made me love Star Wars for the first time.

The animated series was my first try with the EU. I picked up some of the comics with Ahsoka Tano or, my personal favorite, Defenders of the Lost Temple by Justin Aclin and Ben Bates, which is about a clone trooper named Glitch who thought he was force-sensitive. When Star Wars Rebels revealed Grand Admiral Thrawn, I gave the original Heir to the Empire trilogy a try.

Still, the Legends universe never really grabbed me for two big reasons.

First, it was so big! I never knew where to start.

16 best performances in Lucasfilm Animation in the last 10 years
Image
With Star Wars Rebels turning ten this year, we've had a decade's worth of stellar performances from Lucasfilm Animation. From the return of The Clone Wars to the newest outing from the Lego Star Wars miniseries Rebuild the Galaxy, let's dive into which voice actors brought out the best performances.

My picks are based on the entire run of a show, season, or miniseries. A guest spot on a single episode won't count. The only exception would be Star Wars: Visions being a series of shorts. Who gave a solid performance from the beginning to the end of their respective show.

In no particular order, here are the 16 best performances from Lucasfilm Animation in the last 10 years.

Bacardi’s Origins Inspire New Drama Series From ‘Zorro’ Producer Secuoya Studios, Arrivelo Producciones (Exclusive)
Image
Secuoya Studios and Arrivelo Producciones are teaming to develop the first TV series focusing on the foundation and legacy of the Bacardi spirits company.

Inspired by the true story of Bacardi’s founding and rise to global recognition, the series is being developed in collaboration with The Bacardi Archives, a private collection managed by the Bacardi company.

Secuoya describes the show’s narrative as “one of ambition, adversity and family that begins with founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó and his vision to create the world’s first light-bodied rum. The series will narrate how the company persevered from its humble beginnings in Cuba in 1800s through countless hardships, political turmoil, economic crisis, and forced exile from its homeland to become a global spirits empire.”

While specific details about what will be included in the show are still being developed, Secuoya says that the period drama will touch on era-appropriate themes such as “political revolution,...

Give Star Wars Resistance a try if you haven't! It's Andor for kids
Image
Star Wars Resistance is a series that I am passionate about and always ready to defend. However, it's very much the dark horse of the franchise, often forgotten in the run of other shows. Now that it's been out for a few years, I think it's a good time to look at it again, discuss how it's the most unlucky of the Star Wars series, and why you should try it if you haven't. That's because Star Wars Resistance is Andor for kids!

Resistance's Unlucky Run Set the Stage For Star Wars TV After It

When Resistance was first released, some fans gave it a lot of criticism. It was heavily compared to The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. This is a bit of an unfair circumstance because Resistance does not function like its predecessors. It was doing something that Star Wars TV hadn't done up to that...

9 Early 2000 Titles That Need the Legacy of Kain Remaster Treatment
Image
It’s becoming more and more common to see all kinds of remasters in the video game industry. The Legacy of Kain Remaster, set to feature the first two games in the saga, is among the most recent confirmations. However, many other titles also merit updating to modern times, enabling new generations of players to enjoy them.

Numerous well-known names, like Half-Life, Driver, or Def Jam, have yet to receive this opportunity. Many games released in the early 2000s remain unreleased or unfairly overshadowed. This is a list of games from that era that should be remastered or updated.

Resistance The Resistance saga could have a remake. Image via PlayStation.

Despite its relative youth, PlayStation has largely forgotten this story. In 2006, PlayStation released the first game in the Resistance franchise, followed by two more sequels in the same generation.

Following the release of this trilogy, neither PlayStation nor Sony mentioned the saga again,...

“Did these execs join last week?”: Sony’s Top Brass are Being Reminded What Makes Them Better Than Xbox as Executive Comments on Having Less IPs to Work With
Image
Sony executives recently released a statement about the company’s lack of original first-party titles and the gaming community reacted accordingly. Whether intellectual properties for films or video games, the company has more than enough compared to other major competitors. However, these executives seem to forget and it is baffling for a company like this to release a statement without reflecting on their portfolio. Other companies like Microsoft are infamous for their weak output of original first-party titles and never complained publicly.

Countless video games have been released in the past few years and some have been recently adapted to a full motion picture or a live-action television series which were critically praised. These executives have missed the memo and are complaining about a problem they never had.

Let’s Not Get Ahead of Ourselves, We May Not Even Deserve Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Dlc
Image
We’re fast approaching October which means Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is about to be one year old. During that time, Insomniac Games have been patching/updating the game; delivering new suits, bug fixes, and the long awaited New Game Plus feature.

Meanwhile, fans have been clamoring for the studio to announce something new related to its Marvel projects. Whether it’d be Spider-Man 2 Dlc or Marvel’s Wolverine, fans want some transparency on what the Burbank studio is working on.

After the events that occurred at the tail end of 2023, Insomniac Games deserve some privacy. The team was victim to one of the biggest ransomware attacks in the games industry. Nearly two terabytes worth of information was dumped online in a malicious manner including employee data and assets for upcoming projects.

It’s awesome to see fans still excited over Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but the community really...

10 PlayStation Games with the Most Underrated Protagonists
Image
Some fictional characters are less popular or visible, so they are less valued. There are many exclusive PlayStation games with extremely underrated protagonists.

In previous generations of Sony platforms, many games went unnoticed because the popularity of others was much greater. These titles featured intriguing characters to consider. Here are the 10 most underrated PlayStation protagonists.

10 – Knack Knack was not what fans were looking for. Image via PlayStation.

Despite having two installments, which were not well-received in terms of sales and criticism, Knack remains one of the most original and noteworthy characters in the entire PlayStation game family.

Developed by Japan Studio with a younger audience in mind, Knack could change its size at will, making its design super original when facing each level. Knack is a traditional 3D platformer that strives to delve into linear levels.

These kinds of failures have made the company hesitant to target younger audiences, as...

“Would love Infamous to come back”: After the Failure of Concord, Could We See PlayStation Pivot To Revive Franchises Like Resistance and Killzone?
Image
The recent underperformance of Concord, a highly anticipated hero shooter, has sparked speculation about PlayStation’s future strategy when it comes to multiplayer and live-service games. As the gaming landscape grows more competitive every year, there are talks about Sony possibly reviving older franchises to improve its lineup.

Over the years, PlayStation has relied on iconic series like Infamous, God of War, Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank to drive its success. More recently, they found hits with newer IPs such as Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, and Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. With the failure of Concord, this is the best time for Sony to look back at older franchises like Killzone and Resistance, which already have established fanbases.

After Concord’s Failure, Resistance and Killzone Need to Come Back

A reboot of these fan-favorite series could also align these games with Sony’s current vision, bringing them up to modern standards.

‘Dance First’ Trailer: James Marsh Directs Samuel Beckett Biopic
Image
James Marsh is continuing his biopic filmography 10 years after “The Theory of Everything” debuted.

Marsh is now directing “Dance First,” an adaptation of literary icon Samuel Beckett’s life story. Gabriel Byrne portrays Beckett in the biopic that centers on his decades-spanning legacy. The film’s synopsis reads: “Literary genius Samuel Beckett lived a life of many parts: Parisian bon vivant, WWII Resistance fighter, Nobel Prize-winning playwright, philandering husband, recluse. But despite all the adulation that came his way, he was a man acutely aware of his own failings. Titled after Beckett’s famous ethos ‘Dance first, think later,’ the film is a sweeping account of the life of this 20th-century icon.”

Beckett lived from 1906 to 1989, and was best known for his plays “Waiting for Godot” and “Endgame.”

“Dance First” co-stars Aidan Gillen and was written by Neil Forsyth. The film is distributed by Magnolia Pictures; it previously debuted during...

Today, Wdwnt is reporting that Disney is testing out a single-rider line option at the Rise of the Resistance attraction in the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, it does come with a “catch.”

Those wanting to utilize the single rider lane can do so near the attraction’s exit. A Cast Member with a single rider line sign is located there.

Wdwnt did utilize the offering but found out by doing so one gets right into the attraction within a few minutes, but they miss out on most of the story and a large part of the “ride.”

Rise of the Resistance boasts a long 18-minute attraction, but a large part of that time is taken up by the pre-show areas. The first pre-show area features Rey and other characters from Disney’s sequel trilogy explaining the mission. Another pre-show area takes guests...

Bad News for Killzone Fans: Although 2025 and Beyond Will See More PlayStation Remakes Being Announced, That Doesn’t Include Fighting the Helghast

Killzone, the now-dead first-person shooter franchise and arguably PlayStation’s flagship shooter title, was one of the most popular shooter games out there. The first was released back in 2004, and the last title came in 2013, but players have constantly been clamoring for a remake.

There have been several PlayStation remakes of popular classic games in recent years, and there will be more in the upcoming year, but sadly, none of them will be Killzone titles. A leaker has claimed that despite several remakes being in the works, Killzone fans will be left empty-handed.

Muse Censor Setlist for Malaysia Concert, Matty Healy Responds
Image
Muse performed a revised setlist in Malaysia one week after the country’s government prematurely canceled a performance by The 1975.

The revision was announced via concert promoter Hello Universe ahead of Muse’s show on July 29th at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium as part of their ongoing “Will of the People” world tour. Concert organizer Adam Ashraf told Rojak Daily, “They called us shortly after [The 1975] incident went global. After discussions, they decided to pull one song out of the setlist due to the title of the song. It’s nice to know they’re eager to entertain while also respecting the guidelines.”

Muse ended up swapping out “We Are Fucking Fucked,” from their 2022 LP Will of the People, and replacing it with “Resistance,” from 2009’s The Resistance.

The 1975 saw their set at Kuala Lumpur’s Good Vibes Festival abruptly due to frontman Matty Healy’s on-stage antics, which included visibly drinking,...

WGA East members at Gimlet and Parcast said in a statement: “We’re heartbroken — again — for our coworkers who have lost their jobs. And we’re frustrated by the mismanagement that led us here.” left the company. One prominent departure amid those layoffs was Dawn Ostroff,...

MSNBC’s Black Viewership Continues to Soar Thanks to On-Air Representation and Reporting
Jonathan Capehart
As Black History Month comes to a close, MSNBC has continued its streak as the No. 1 most-watched cable network among Black Americans in February, a title the network has maintained for 25 consecutive months and that “The Saturday Show” and “The Sunday Show” host Jonathan Capehart attributed to the network’s diverse on-air voices and inclusive reporting.

“Black viewers can see themselves reflected back at them not just in the anchor chair when it comes to, me, Joy Reid, Reverend Al [Sharpton], Symone [Sanders-Townsend] or any of the other African American anchors, but also other anchors of color at the network,” Capehart told TheWrap. “The network covers the stories that are important to the American people at large, but stories that are of particular interest to the African American community.”

While Capehart asserted “there’s no issue that’s in the news, or that is an import to the American people that doesn...

"Light & Magic," the six-part docu-series about the legendary work of Industrial Light & Magic (Ilm), directed by Lawrence Kasdan and executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, is now streaming on Disney+.

Recently, the folks at r/StarWarsLeaks discovered that Lucasfilm has filed three new trademarks: "The Great Circle," "The Galactic Circle," and "Circle of Resistance."

Star Wars Confirms Future Sequel Trilogy Era Movie Plans
Image
If you tuned into Star Wars Celebration last week hoping to get lots of updates on Lucasfilm’s upcoming slate of films set in the galaxy far, far away, you likely came away very disappointed. We learned virtually nothing new about the three films currently in development during the four-day conference in Anaheim. Instead, the Disney+ series were the real stars of the show, with The Mandalorian season 3, Andor, Ahsoka, The Bad Batch, and new animated series Tales of the Jedi taking top billing. There was even a new Star Wars video game announced over the weekend, but not a single thing about the medium that birthed the franchise in the first place.

What gives? Well, it’s no secret that things are a little hazy in terms of when we might actually get another Star Wars film. With Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron film pushed out of its original Dec.

25 Most Underrated Video Game Sequels Ever
Image
Generally speaking, video game sequels fare better than sequels in other mediums. Video games may be art, but they’re also technology. As technology improves and offers developers new ways to expand upon their old ideas (or explore new ones), video game sequels often show us how far we’ve come. It’s honestly not uncommon for a video game sequel to be substantially better than its predecessor.

For as celebrated as video game sequels often are, though, it’s not uncommon for one to fly under the radar. From very good games that had the misfortune of following beloved classics to great games that improved really bad ones that managed to stain the series’ name, there’s no shortage of reasons why a video game sequel may go overlooked or underappreciated. The one thing every underrated sequel shares is that they deserve a legacy of their own.

Before you check out our selections,...

Aidan Gillen, Sandrine Bonnaire Join James Marsh’s Samuel Beckett Biopic, Key Sales Announced (Exclusive)
Image
Aidan Gillen, who played Littlefinger in “Game of Thrones,” and Sandrine Bonnaire, a best actress winner at Venice for “La cérémonie,” have joined Gabriel Byrne in Samuel Beckett biopic “Dance First,” directed by Oscar-winner James Marsh.

Film Constellation has closed pre-sales on the film in Australia/New Zealand (Icon), Italy (Bim Distribuzione), Spain (Filmin), Portugal (Nos Audiovisuais), Greece (Filmtrade), Hungary (Vertigo Media), former Yugoslavia (Discovery) and Taiwan (Cai Chang). Pay TV outlet Sky developed the film as a Sky Original in the U.K.

Marsh, best-known for “The Theory of Everything,” for which Eddie Redmayne won an Oscar, and Oscar-winner “Man on Wire,” will start shooting the film on May 30 in Budapest.

“Dance First’s” cast also includes Fionn O’Shea, who will play the young Beckett. He appeared in “Handsome Devil,” “Dating Amber” and “Normal People,” and will be seen next in “Masters of the Air.” The film is written by Neil Forsyth.

Jesse Eisenberg in Resistance (2020)
20 Best PlayStation 3 Games Ever
Jesse Eisenberg in Resistance (2020)
It’s mostly forgotten now, but the PlayStation 3 actually had an incredibly rocky launch. The console’s architecture initially made it difficult to develop for, early exclusives were underwhelming, and the $599 price tag (roughly $800 in 2021 dollars) for the top end launch model was just too rich for many gamers.

But with time, those issues faded away. The higher price tag, due in part to the then-novel Blu-ray disc drive, just meant games could be larger and more detailed than ever before. Developers quickly adapted to the console, and now the PS3 is just as fondly remembered as any other Sony console.

As we look back at the 15th anniversary of the PS3’s launch, it’s time to rank the 20 games that still stand out as the very best on the console:

20. LittleBigPlanet 2

2011 | Media Molecule

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a solid platformer, but where the series has always shined is in its creation tools.

Oscar Winner James Marsh to Direct Samuel Beckett Biopic ‘Dance First,’ Starring Gabriel Byrne (Exclusive)
Image
Production, finance and sales outfit Film Constellation is launching pre-sales on upcoming Samuel Beckett biopic “Dance First,” to be directed by James Marsh and to star Gabriel Byrne.

Marsh won an Academy Award for best documentary feature in 2009 with “Man on Wire,” and also directed the Stephen Hawking biopic “The Theory of Everything,” which earned five nominations at the 2015 Oscars, including best picture, and a best actor win for Eddie Redmayne.

Marsh will now be directing his gaze on the life of Beckett, the ground-breaking Irish writer. Titled after Beckett’s famous ethos on life “Dance first, think later,” the film is a sweeping account of the life of this icon of 20th-century literature.

Beckett lived a life of many parts: Parisian bon vivant, World War II Resistance fighter, Nobel Prize-winning playwright, philandering husband and recluse. But despite all the adulation that came his way he was a man acutely aware of his own failings.

Disneyland To Open In Late April, Disney CEO Bob Chapek Says
Image
Disney CEO Bob Chapek said Disneyland will open in “late April” — declining to give a specific date today but at least narrowing the window.

Under new state reopening guidelines released Friday by California public health officials, the park could have opened April 1. Attendance at the Magic Kingdom initially will be limited to California residents upon reopening.

In Florida, the parks are open at 35% capacity and having no trouble attracting guests. Disney over the weekend reported that all parks at Walt Disney World are completely booked next week for Disney Resort guests and theme park tickets guests. Disney’s Hollywood Studios also has no availability for the rest of the month for guests as spring break crowds push the capacity at the Florida attraction.

The park closed a year ago this week.
