Mumbai, May 5 (Ians) After ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, director Kushan Nandy is all set to work with actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the second time in ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’.

Talking about his association with Nawazuddin, Nandy said: “Nawaz, of course, is a fabulous actor. There is no rocket science in figuring that out. Also, there is a kind of rapport that develops over the years.”

“There are a lot of times on the sets when we just exchange glances after a take, and he knows what I am thinking and I know what he is thinking. So, there is a kind of brotherhood that we share.”

He added: “I feel very secure as a director because I feel my actor is going to give me exactly what I want and so it makes him very special to me. Also, apart from being an actor, he is almost like a brother to me.

Mumbai, Feb 27 (Ians) Filmmaker Kushan Nandy says his upcoming film Jogira Sara Ra Ra! is special for lead actor Nawazuddin and him.

"Jogira Sara Ra Ra! is a very special film for Nawaz and me, because the Covid lockdown had seemed endless. I am so glad that we are finally going to be on a set and begin shooting," said Nandy added.

"This is a quirky romantic comedy about an unlikely couple and a host of unusual characters. We began our start-to-finish schedule with all of them and go on right until the middle of April," he added, about the film co-starring Neha Sharma.

"It's exciting to work with Nawaz once again and create something diametrically opposite of what we did last time," said the director, referring to their 2017 action drama Babumoshai Bandookbaaz.

The film also features Sanjay Mishra and Mimoh Chakraborty, and will be shot in Barabanki town near Lucknow.

Top Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, star of series “Sacred Games” and several other Netflix originals, and a regular at Cannes, is currently wrapping feature film “Sangeen” in London.

Written and directed by Jaideep Chopra (“2016 the End”), the film, which also stars Elnaaz Norouzi (“Sacred Games”), is a two-handed thriller largely set in one room. Siddiqui was floored by Chopra’s script and describes his role as a “challenging part.” The action periodically breaks out into wintry London locales. This is Siddiqui’s first time shooting in London, a city currently in lockdown. “The city is completely deserted,” says Siddiqui.

Produced by Gurjit Singh and Ankit Khanna for Golden Era Films and Ak Projekts, the shoot is taking place under strict Covid protocols with a pared down crew in a bio-secure bubble, including two sealed off floors at the unit hotel.

Actor Jatin Goswami, who featured in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, will make his digital debut with sci-fi show "Skyfire", in which he essays an intelligence agent.

Jatin said: "I'm playing the character Sayed Ali Hassan, an intelligence agent who is brutally honest. He is on this once-in-a-lifetime kind of case that takes him to some extremely dark places."

"In solving the case, he is sucked into a freaky chain of events. It is a gritty, edge-of-the-seat sci-fi thriller," added the actor, who also has appeared in the film Hum Chaar.

"Skyfire" will premiere on May 22 on ZEE5. The show also features Prateik Babbar, Sonal Chauhan and Jisshu Sengupta.

The story revolves around the drastically changing weather that brings life to a standstill, as well as touches upon human trafficking and children going missing in Delhi. Amidst all this tension, an intelligence agent, a journalist and a teacher go on a hunt to solve the mystery.

Sony Pictures Networks Productions, part of Sony in India, is backing social-campaigning drama “T for Taj Mahal.” The film is directed by Kireet Khurana, a six-time winner of the National Film Award.

The film examines social entrepreneurship and challenges the paucity of education in India. Social dramas have repeatedly shown themselves as box office winners in India, including the recent “Pad Man” and “Dangal.”

The cast of “T for Taj Mahal” includes Subrat Dutta, U.S. actress Ali Faulkner (“The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn”), Bidita Bag (“Babumoshai Bandookbaaz”), Manoj Pahwa (“Hey Ram”), and Pitobash (“Million Dollar Arm”) in key roles.

Production is by Abis Rizvi, with Spn Productions set as both production company and distributor. The film is currently in post-production and will be released this year.
