Phew! Outer Banks season 4 episode 9, "The Storm," was certainly jam-packed. It honestly felt like this episode was the season finale. And it very easily could have been. But of course, we have one more to go. Before we get to that, let's breakdown the penultimate episode of Obx season 4 part 2 with our review. Spoilers Below.

In case things just couldn't get any worse for the Pogues, they end up having to go on the run again because the cops think that JJ is the one responsible for Hollis' death. As we saw in episode 8, this was all a set up a la Groff. Father of the year. This guy is truly horrible, and JJ starts to act out. He's hurt, and this is what he does.

Though did he really need to shoot that firecracker at the police? Definitely not. His friends are rightfully mad at him this time.

In Stuart Baird's 2002 film "Star Trek: Nemesis," Tom Hardy plays Shinzon, a human clone of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), grown in a lab by the dastardly spies in the Romulan Empire. When their clone plot didn't quite turn out the way that they wanted, the Romulans disavowed Shinzon's existence and sent him as a young boy to be enslaved in a Reman mine. The Remans were a cousin species of the Romulans that had been enslaved for many generations. Shinzon would grow up among the goblin-looking Remans, sharing their plight. Perhaps possessed of Picard's knack for leadership, Shizon would eventually lead a Reman uprising against the Romulans. "Nemesis" was the first time Trekkies ever caught a glimpse of the Remans. Shinzon's massive warship, the Scimitar, would be staffed entirely by Reman officers.

Highlighting the Amazon Originals on the TV side this month are two heavy hitters. The first is The Horror of Dolores Roach on July 7. Based on a podcast of the same name, this series could best be described as a modern day Sweeney Todd? Why, you ask? Well you know why. Think about it. Then season 2 of Neil Gaiman adaptation Good Omens premieres on July 28. This season will follow angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tenant) as they seek to keep the Archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) away from both heaven and hell.

There aren’t any Amazon Original movies of note this month and that’s alright as the influx of library titles is more than enough. July 1 sees the arrival of The 40-Year-Old Virgin, No Country for Old Men,...

While summer starts in June, things truly heat up in July, and that includes all the hot new drops on streamers. Amazon’s Prime Video has refreshed its slate of content with over 60 new movies, like Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” and the 1973 animated adaption of the children’s book “Charlotte’s Web.”

Prime Video kicks off the start of the month with Doug McHenry’s “Jason’s Lyric,” “Father of the Bride,” and “Little Nicky.”

Plus, if you’re a Reese Witherspoon fan, Prime Video sets you up with her very first film and her breakout role as Dani in “Man in the Moon.” And the entire “Legally Blonde” trilogy is also available, for those who bend and snap.

Prime Video is also giving watchers some ultimate film classics like “Free Willy,” ”Gladiator,” and “Dances With Wolves.”

Prime Video has adapted the one-woman podcast “Empanada Loca” into a new series. “The Horror of Dolores Roach” will begin streaming on the service on July 7. Buckle up, because this one is gruesome. Roach (Justina Machado) returns to a gentrified Washington Heights after a long prison sentence and works as a masseuse in the basement of a friend’s empanada shop. But when her security is threatened, Roach is driven to extremes to survive.

Season 2 of “Good Omens” also will premiere on Prime Video in July. Arriving July 28, the series focuses on the friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer, and the snarky demon Crowley (David Tennant). While the Apocalypse has been averted, the pair are back living their lives in London, until the archangel Gabriel shows up. The series is based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Martin Wiley, a veteran producer and executive whose credits include Acts of Violence, Never Talk to Strangers and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, died March 20, his son Cameron told Deadline. He was 65.

A USC alum who got his post-graduate degree from UCLA, Wiley served as a creative executive in charge of development on films produced at Warner Bros., Sony, Lionsgate and other studios and the supervising producer and/or unit production manager for more than a dozen theatrical features.

Exclusive: We have learned that Bruce Willis and John Travolta are starring together again for the first time in 27 years in the Chuck Russell-directed action pic Paradise City. Production starts this Monday in Maui, Hawaii.

Willis plays renegade bounty hunter, Ryan Swan, who must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to wreak vengeance on the kingpin, played by Travolta, who murdered his father. I’m told the project is billed as being similar to Miami Vice but with bounty hunters instead of cops. Thai actress and model Praya Lundberg has landed the lead female role.

Though Paradise City technically reps the fourth time that Willis and Travolta are billed on a movie together, they only worked onscreen in the 1994 Oscar-winning $214M-grossing Quentin Tarantino movie Pulp Fiction respectively as boxer Butch Coolidge and mob guy Vincent Vega. For the first time in a while, Netflix is adding no new titles today, so let’s instead take the opportunity to recap what’s gone up on the streaming site over the past week, from Saturday, August 1st to Saturday, August 8th. As that encompasses the first day of the month, there was a huge amount of fresh content added to Netflix’s library over this period. To be exact, there were 49 movies and 24 TV shows.

On the film side of things, this haul includes many an acclaimed or cult favorite flick from across the decades in all kinds of genres. Once upon a time, Bruce Willis was one of the biggest stars out there, able to pick and choose whichever projects he liked thanks to a solid track record at the box office ever since Die Hard first put him on the Hollywood A-list. Nowadays, though, the 65 year-old’s star is not shining anywhere near as bright.

In recent years, he more often than not finds himself sleepwalking through dull roles and can usually be found slumming it in C-level action movies that typically skip theaters. In fact, Willis has made about twenty films in the last five years alone, and only a small handful of them have seen the inside of a cinema. Let that sink in for a moment.

It seems like Bruce Willis has truly thrown in the proverbial towel as of late. As good of a month as July was for Netflix subscribers, the streaming giant looks to deliver an almost as impressive August and they kicked things off yesterday with a huge drop that comprised old classics, forgotten films, underrated gems and more. And while not super heavy for horror, in particular, there were still a few notable titles that arrived on the platform yesterday that are sure to get your blood pumping and make your palms sweaty.

For instance, the original Jurassic Park trilogy – that’s Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III – is now on Netflix and while perhaps not the scariest films out there, they still do have their moments of horror and hold up very well even today. The first one, of course, is a bonafide classic, but its two sequels are certainly worth a watch as well.

Meanwhile, 1991’s The Addams Family...

You know, Nicolas Cage gets a lot of criticism for acting in straight-to-digital movies these days. But for every Vengeance: A Love Story or The Humanity Bureau, he sprinkles in little seen gems like Mandy and Color Out of Space as well as a memorable performance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He’s also set to play Joe Exotic, so at least he still tries to challenge himself. Bruce Willis, on the other hand, has officially thrown in the proverbial towel.

In the past nine years, he’s starred in 20 movies that have either had a limited theatrical release or skipped the cinema and went straight to your living room. Some of the names of these films include Precious Cargo, Marauders and Once Upon a Time in Venice. And before you think otherwise, that last one has absolutely zero connection to Quentin Tarantino.

Though Netflix has dropped a few notable titles from its library to say goodbye to July, today has brought us a whole heap of fresh content to usher in the new month. With over 30 new movies and TV shows, August has been welcomed with a truckload of classic films, mostly from the 90s and the early 00s, as well as some other interesting titles that you may want to check out.

The most attention-grabbing additions are all three Jurassic Park movies, which are hopping over to Netflix after a short stint on Peacock. So, you may want to travel back to Isla Nubar yet again this weekend and treat yourself to a rewatch of the prehistoric trilogy. Elsewhere, there are the two sequels to Ocean’s Eleven and medieval adventure A Knight’s Tale starring the much-missed Heath Ledger.

Netflix is out with its list of everything coming and going in August, and the list includes Season 5 of “Lucifer” and a new film starring Jamie Foxx called “Project Power.”

As we finish up July and head into August, Netflix has a bunch of great new content coming this week. Though Monday doesn’t feature anything fresh, Tuesday through Sunday will deliver a ton of exciting titles, including a lot of classic movies and a bunch of Netflix Originals.

The highlights of what’s to come in the last days of July include Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege season 1, the beginning of a new trilogy exploring the final hours of the civil war that was fought between the Autobots and the Decepticons on their homeworld, and also The Umbrella Academy season 2, in which things are set to get even weirder for the Hargreeves clan.

Netflix‘s new releases for August 2020 should be a hell of a good time.

How else are we supposed to describe the month that features the long-awaited arrival of Lucifer season 5? Yes, ol’ Lucy finally returns on August 21 for what is now the penultimate season of the show.

While Lucifer is the main highlight of Netflix’s original offerings on August, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some other intriguing options to stream. The Rain season 3 arrives on August 6, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia on August 7, and Teenage Bounty Hunters on August 14. That’s not even to mention a potential blockbuster movie in the form of the Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring Project Power.

In August, Netflix also continues its high-profile poaching of other worthwhile properties as well. August sees the arrival of both The Legend of Korra and Cobra Kai, opening up two worthwhile series to an even wider streaming audience.

Netflix is adding a seriously impressive line-up of content across August. In a bid to keep you indoors and out of the sun, the streaming giant has got a wide range of titles coming to its library next month, including various highly-anticipated original movies and TV shows, as well as countless beloved films that are being added – or are returning – to the site.

We’ve previously had a couple of updates on what to expect in August, but this is the full official list of everything that’s due on Netflix over the course of next month. As we already knew, some of the highlights include Jamie Foxx superhero vehicle Project Power and the fifth and penultimate season of DC’s Lucifer. Now, however, we can see there’s a lot more to look forward to besides just that.

The first day of August, in particular, brings a whole heap of titles.

Sophia Bush has signed on for the title role in the CBS drama pilot “Good Sam,” Variety has learned.

In the show, talented yet stifled heart surgeon Sam (Bush) embraces her leadership role after her renowned and pompous boss, Griff (not yet cast), falls into a coma. When he awakens and wants to resume surgery, however, it falls to her to supervise this overbearing blowhard who never acknowledged her talents — and also happens to be her father.

This marks the second pilot season in a row Bush has signed on to lead a CBS project, with the actress starring in the network’s drama pilot “Surveillance” last year. She is best known for her starring role on the CW (formerly WB) drama “One Tree Hill,” on which she appeared for nearly 200 episodes. She also starred in the NBC drama “Chicago P.D.” from 2014-2017, appearing on both of the other NBC...

Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D.) has been tapped for the title role in Good Sam, CBS’ family medical drama pilot from Katie Wech, Jennie Snyder Urman and her Sutton St. Productions, and CBS Television Studios, where Sutton St. is under a deal.

Written by Wech, Good Sam centers on Sam (Bush), a talented yet stifled heart surgeon who embraces her leadership role after her renowned and pompous boss falls into a coma. Sam Irvin is directing the film that follows Ruby (Bolona) a Child adopted into an affluent family who struggles to mediate the chaos roiling around her as she plans her impending wedding at her fiancé’s family’s lavish countryside estate. Anna Hutchison (The Cabin in the Woods), Madison McKinley (The Wolf of Wall Street), and James McCaffrey (Max Payne) co-star in the pic from Stargazer Films. Bolona, who recently appeared in Acts Of Violence starring Bruce Willis, is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Innovative Artists.

Glee and Switched At Birth alum Max Adler has joined Trevor Donovan and Vanessa Angel in the indie film, Hot Water, which is being directed by Larry Rippenkroeger. The plot follows a cocky young jet skier,...

Exclusive: One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush and Patriot star Michael Dorman have been tapped as the leads in Hard Luck Love Song, an indie from Synthetic Pictures and Dime Box Entertainment based on the song “Just Like Old Times” by Todd Snider. Justin Corsbie is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Craig Ugoretz.

It follows Jesse (Dorman), a charismatic but down-on-his-luck troubadour, who finds himself at an existential crossroads as his bad decisions catch up with him. His world spins into further upheaval after a chance encounter with Carla (Bush), an old flame. Their toxic past, Carla’s own personal demons, and Jesse’s current troubles threaten to destroy their blissful reunion.

Allison Smith and Corsbie are producing the film, the first music-centric project under their Dime Box banner, along with Douglas Matejka. Exec Producers are Peter Scalettar and Christian Monti.

Patrick St. Esprit, who heavily recurred in the first season of S.W.A.T., has been promoted to series regular for Season 2 of the CBS drama series.

St. Esprit plays Commander Robert Hicks, a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau. He appeared in 16 episodes in Season 1.

Inspired by the classic television series and feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as the locally born and raised sergeant tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Aaron Rahsaan Thomas, Shawn Ryan, Justin Lin, Neal Moritz, Marney Hochman, Danielle Woodrow and Pavun Shetty serve as executive producers. S.W.A.T. is produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with CBS Television Studios.

Exclusive: Mike Epps has been added to the cast of Amazon Studios’ Troupe Zero, joining Viola Davis, Allison Janney, Jim Gaffigan and Mckenna Grace. Bert & Bertie are directing the film from a script by Beasts of the Southern Wild scribe Lucy Alibar.

Epps will play Dwayne Boudraux in the film, which is begin produced by Todd Black. Filming will take place in New Orleans.

Epps, who recently appeared in Acts of Violence opposite Bruce Willis and Eli Roth’s Death Wish also starring Willis, will next be seen in Lionsgate’s Uncle Drew comedy, out next month. His upcoming film slate includes The House Next Door, the sequel to the 2016 comedy, Meet The Blacks, The Cat and the Moon, and The Trap with T.I.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” debuted atop the national home video sales charts by a wide margin the week ended March 31.

The eighth numbered installment of the “Star Wars” saga and the ninth live-action film in the franchise took in $620 million at the domestic box office and $1.33 billion worldwide — making it the top earner released in 2017. The Rian Johnson-directed film easily took the No. 1 spot on both the Npd VideoScan overall disc sales chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart.

Dropping to No. 2 on both charts in its second week, after debuting in the top spot a week earlier, was Sony Pictures’ “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” which sold 29% as many copies as Last Jedi during the week.

Disney’s “Coco,” in its fifth week, moved up a slot to No. 3 on both charts.

"Can't go around kicking in doors." Lionsgate has released the first trailer for an action thriller titled Acts of Violence, yet another instantly-forgettable B-movie from nowhere starring the formerly-great Bruce Willis. In this one, Willis plays a cop investigating human trafficking and fighting a corrupted bureaucracy. The plot focuses on three Midwestern brothers, a crime lord, and Willis' cop, who are all on a deadly collision course when the youngest brother’s fiancée is kidnapped by human traffickers. So they make it a mission to save her, and of course there's plenty of guns and explosions. The cast includes Cole Hauser, Shawn Ashmore, Ashton Holmes, Melissa Bolona, Sean Brosnan, and Sophia Bush. I'm really so tired of these kind of mediocre, excessively bland action films that are a dime a dozen nowadays. Have fun. Exclusive: Kim Dong-Joo’s outfit Starzione strikes deal with La-based Unified Pictures.

Acclaimed South Korean Oldboy producer Kim Dong-Joo has turned his eye towards Hollywood with the launch of film and TV company Starzione.

Based in Beijing and Los Angeles, the company in partnership with I Do Culture Corporation aims to act as a bridge between global collaborators and kicks off with a co-production and co-financing deal with La-based Unified Pictures to complete production on animation The Ark And The Aardvark.

Miles Teller is attached to the animation that tells the story of Noah’s Ark from the perspective of the animals, specifically a group of misfits. John Stevenson directs.

Unified’s slate includes the upcoming Dragged Across Concrete starring Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn that Lionsgate just acquired for the Us, as well as What They Had starring Hilary Swank and Michael Shannon, and Stingray, which will star Joel Edgerton

Ashton Holmes, known for his breakout role in New Lines’ A History Of Violence, is set to co-star in the Bruce Willis-starring action film Acts of Violence, from Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films. Cole Hauser has come aboard to co-star in Acts of Violence, a Bruce Willis actioner from Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.

The movie, under the direction of Brett Donowho, began production this week in Cleveland, Ohio.

The script by Nicolas Aaron Mezzanatto tells of a man (Willis) who, when his fiancé is kidnapped by human traffickers, gathers his ex-military pals to track her down and save her.

Hauser is playing one of the fiancé's brothers, a veteran suffering from Ptsd who helps Willis. Shawn Ashmore, Mike Epps, Sophia Bush and Melissa Bolona round out the cast.

Lionsgate Premiere will distribute the pic domestically.
