John Dimaggio is perhaps best known for his roles on Futurama. Among his other roles is Aquaman for Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Aquaman was one of the funniest characters on a show full of humor and charm. Well known for his classic costume design, and his catchphrase: Outrageous!
Aquaman makes many appearances in The Brave and the Bold. His first major appearance was in the episode "Evil Under The Sea!" Aquaman was one of Batman's most trusted allies his entire time on the show, and he admired Batman greatly. Batman and Aquaman often teamed up for their crime-fighting endeavors, on land or underwater.
Tons of DC heroes and villains appeared in The Brave and the Bold, but few as prolific as Aquaman. Aquaman made tons of appearances, whether it be in episodes like "Aquaman's Outrageous Adventure," or when Batman formed a new Justice League.

Patrick Schwarzenegger Responds To The Batman - Part II Having A Winter Setting: "The Iceman Cometh"
During a recent interview, The Batman director Matt Reeves indicated that his long-awaited sequel will take place during the winter (likely around Christmas or New Year's), which led to some speculation that Mr. Freeze might be introduced as the villain of the piece.
This is a massive leap, of course, but the "rumor" (see below) now has its icy grip on the internet, especially after Patrick Schwarzenegger sent out the following post.

As we're sure you'll all be aware, Patrick's megastar father - Arnold Schwarzenegger - played Mr. Freeze in 1997's Batman and Robin, and some fans thought he might be hinting that he's set to play a new take on the character in The Batman sequel. The Gen V actor was quick to shut this down, however, responding with: "Nah haha but I wish!

The Batman Director Matt Reeves Confirms Trilogy Plans; Touches On Sequel's Villain & Winter Setting
While doing press for HBO's The Penguin spin-off series, The Batman director Matt Reeves has shared some very interesting new details about his upcoming sequel, which is scheduled to begin shooting early next year.
While speaking to Collider, Reeves confirmed that he still intends to complete the trilogy he originally envisioned prior to James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over as co-heads of the recently-implemented DC Studios.
"Yes, that is still the plan," said the filmmaker. "I mean, it’s sticking very closely to the path we envisioned."
There was some concern that any plans that may have been in place would be changed with the formation of the Dcu, especially since a new take on the Dark Knight is set to be introduced in The Brave and the Bold down the line.
"Things kind of shifted," Reeves admitted. "So, when we came up with the idea to do The Penguin,...

Matt Reeves is teasing that The Batman 2 will dig even deeper into a specific aspect of the first movie, but hold onto your Bat-capes—this might be more of a trap than a treat. Christopher Nolan faced a similar dilemma with his Dark Knight trilogy, promising deeper dives into Gotham’s underbelly, only to face fan scrutiny and sky-high expectations.
Robert Pattinson starred as Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman | Warner Bros. Pictures
It’s like trying to follow a magic trick: the more you focus on the sleight of hand, the easier it is to miss the real surprise. Reeves’ promise might sound enticing, but as Nolan discovered, it’s tough to meet those expectations when the first film already set the bar sky-high. So, what’s the real story behind the Bat’s next adventure? Buckle up!

While Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice certainly has its defenders, it's probably fair to say that it wasn't the Dark Knight/Man of Steel team-up movie a lot of fans were hoping for.
With the advent of the rebooted Dcu and new movies focusing on Superman and Batman on the way, there's a good chance we will see these iconic heroes share the screen again at some point, and it sounds like DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn may have given the idea some thought.
The Superman director was asked what he would call a "hypothetical" team-up movie featuring just those characters on Threads, and revealed that is title would be World's Finest.
Some have taken Gunn's response as a hint that a World's Finest project is actually in development, but if that was the case, something tells us he wouldn't have answered the question. We're...

The Batman was a hit for Warner Bros. in 2022; with an 85% Rotten Tomatoes Score and over $770 million at the worldwide box office, the movie proved to be a rare DC-related win for the studio after the struggles it faced with the Dceu.
The Penguin hits HBO and Max in a few weeks and while James Gunn has said out-of-continuity projects will continue to be made, it's still strange to think that The Batman II will be forced to compete with The Brave and the Bold, a Batman and Robin-led project featuring the Dcu's new Dark Knight.
Ultimately, money talks and Batman remains one of the studio's most valuable IPs. That Arkham Asylum-set TV series may have been scrapped but it appears the plan now is for Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader to get his own video game.
That news comes our way from Puck, though no additional details are provided.

Warner Bros., Max, and DC have been developing a TV series set in the infamous Gotham City hospital that was originally intended as a spinoff series of The Batman before James Gunn came on board and decided to turn it into a Dcu project.
However, it underwent several changes behind the scenes as different showrunners were initially attached to the project before Antonio Campos joined and spearheaded the latest iteration.
Arkham Asylum TV Series No Longer Moving Forward
It was recently confirmed that Max is no longer moving forward with the Arkham Asylum TV series.
There is no official reason stated regarding why the planned Batman series is no longer happening except that Campos' version will not proceed.

Yesterday evening, the news broke that DC Studios is no longer moving forward with a Max TV series set in Arkham Asylum. The project had a complicated journey, going through multiple showrunners and even switching universes.
Original plans called for it to serve as a spin-off to The Batman, only for James Gunn to later casually mention that the Matt Reeves-produced series was to be set in the Dcu instead.
That turned it into a tie-in to The Brave and the Bold, an unexpected move that left fans concerned that DC Studios was pivoting away from plans to expand Reeves' Bat-Verse with a slate of spin-offs.
Now, Arkham Asylum showrunner Joe Otterson has broken his silence on the cancellation.
Over the past 24 hours, there's been speculation about the trades getting it wrong and the scrapped show is the Bat-Verse-set series Gunn confirmed was no longer in the works months ago.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has addressed – with Spoilers – the ending to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.
Again, spoilers ahead!
If there’s one character in the Batman mythos who’s been a little underserved over the decades, it’s surely Robin. The Dark Knight’s trusty kid sidekick has often found himself sidelined when it comes to cinematic incarnations of the Caped Crusader.
There’s Burt Ward’s classic take which made it into the 1966 movie, although that was really just an extension of the TV show. Then there’s Chris O’ Donnell’s version of the character which appeared in Joel Schumacher’s two Batman films.
Along the way we’ve enjoyed far more appearances by other Gotham City mainstays such as Alfred, Catwoman, The Riddler and what seems like a million versions of The Joker.
We have seen the character teased a few times, though. Zack Snyder did...

Update: James Gunn has chimed in and it looks like we may have to discount Nexus Point News scoops moving forward...
Post by @jamesgunn View on Threads
According to Nexus Point News, DC Studios has turned to Andy Muschietti and Rodo Sayagues to write the screenplay for The Brave and the Bold.
Muschietti remains attached to direct and, interestingly, James Gunn appears to have turned to two filmmakers with serious horror experience for this reboot. Grant Morrison's Batman and Robin run included scary elements, including Professor Pyg, the twisted Simon Hurt, and Man-Bat.
Sayagues' other credits include Don't Breathe and its sequel, while Muschietti is currently working on Max's It spin-off, Welcome to Derry.
The site adds that, "The Brave and the Bold is looking to start production in 2025. This could set it up for a Summer 2027 release." A horror-tinged approach to the Dark Knight would definitely differentiate the...

The upcoming Venice Film Festival is shaping up to be a star-studded affair with Lady Gaga, Joaquin Phoenix, Angelina Jolie, Daniel Craig, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Gal Gadot and Ana de Armas among top Hollywood talents likely to be launching high-profile titles from the Lido.
Though festival chief Alberto Barbera has yet to see several submitted works that are likely to make the cut, a clutch of globally buzzy movies have already secured a coveted Venice berth, though some of the more mainstream entries will probably be bowing out-of-competition.

Winston Duke emerged as one of the standouts of both Black Panther movies thanks to his memorable take on M'Baku, and by all accounts, the actor is also a major highlight of The Fall Guy.
Duke has yet to establish himself as a Hollywood leading man, but all it takes is the right role, and the actor has set his sights on what will likely be the most sought-after part in Hollywood down the line.
During an interview with /Film, Duke was asked about the possibility of suiting up as The Dark Knight in the upcoming Dcu Batman reboot, The Brave and the Bold, after previously voicing Bruce Wayne in the Batman Unburied podcast.
"Listen, man, can you start that [campaign]? [Laughs] I would say I challenge you to get on all these socials and push for me. Get your community. I would love to. I would love to do that as Batman.

Jonathan Nolan wrote The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises alongside his brother (after contributing to Batman Begins), filmmaker Christopher Nolan, and he's since shifted focus to small screen projects like Westworld and Fallout.
Christopher has said on multiple occasions that he's done with Batman, while Christian Bale has vowed to only return if the director does. As a result, we've come to accept this trilogy ended in 2012 and will be left alone.
However, in a new interview, Jonathan has made it clear he'd be open to returning to the Caped Crusader's world...even if his brother would take some convincing.
"Wouldn't that be a dream," he said. "That period was about 10 years of my life, from when I got the call to work on Batman Begins in 2003 to putting out The Dark Knight Rises In 2012 and it was epic."

Whenever it comes to the Dcau, fans often look back to Bruce Timm’s masterful work on Batman: The Animated Series, which by many is still considered the peak of the caped crusader. However, the Dcau isn’t just limited to Btas, as there have been several different interpretations of the iconic character in the realm of animation, with one of them being The Batman.
Not to be confused with Matt Reeves’ The Batman, The Batman Animated Series was a fun reimagining of Batman and its coterie of supervillains, which scored well critically throughout its run. One thing that fans found odd about the show was the introduction of Batgirl as Bruce’s first sidekick, but the writers can’t be blamed for this decision.

When Johnny Depp praised and thanked his Jeanne du Barry director for giving him a chance when nearly no other filmmaker would, it showed genuine appreciation. But then director Maïwenn seemed to betray her star, giving an interview in The Independent that painted Depp as “scary” on the set and Maïwenn as disloyal. Now, Maïwenn is trying to right the wrongs ahead of the film’s North American release next week.
Speaking with Variety, Maïwenn said that her quotes about Johnny Depp had been misrepresented. “When I made a remark about Johnny being ‘scary,’ I was talking about his charisma, his notoriety, his star status, etc… was shocked when I discovered that the newspaper had headlined that ‘The crew were afraid of [Johnny Depp]’ because written like that, and without its context and subtleties, it absolutely no longer means the same thing. Although it seemed like the Dceu was down for the count after the theatrical release of Justice League in 2017, the universe found more solid footing in several films afterward. However, one thread they didn’t get to pick up on was the tease of Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke in the post-credits scene in which Jesse Eisenberg returned as Lex Luthor and proposed a league of their own. The Dceu has officially concluded with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and James Gunn’s reign with his Dcu will be kickstarting with Superman: Legacy.
However, ComicBook.com reveals that Manganiello now has a new opportunity to continue his Slade Wilson incarnation despite the Dceu being dissolved. When Affleck’s in-universe version of The Batman fell through, in which Deathstroke was set to appear as the main antagonist, Manganiello wrote his own Deathstroke screenplay, which reportedly was well-received at Warner Bros. before the big studio shake-up.

It seems that the decision to cancel Superman & Lois after its fourth season was influenced by James Gunn’s DC Universe, particularly Superman: Legacy. Brad Schwartz, the president of The CW, shared insights into the show’s conclusion at the Television Critics Association event. He explained that the series was brought to an end due to Warner Bros.
Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in Superman and Lois
Considering DC Studios’ efforts to establish a unified DC Universe, the cancellation may not come as a complete surprise. With DC Studios aiming for a unified DC cinematic universe, it’s understandable that having different Superman portrayals across TV and film could get confusing. James Gunn’s development of the new Superman reboot and Dcu kickstart, Superman: Legacy, wasn’t affected by the strikes as the writer and director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy was able to submit his screenplay just before the writers started their picketing. While the dual strikes were in effect, he was able to continue with the project purely with his director’s cap on. Pre-production is currently continuing in full force, and more and more news of casting is released, including a new Jimmy Olsen and Eve Teschmacher being cast with Skylar Gisondo and Sara Sampaio.
While Gunn concluded his initial script prior to the strikes, there were inevitable rewrites and additional drafts to be written after completion, as is done with nearly all screenplays. Now that the strikes have subsided, Gunn has been able to go back and work on his script. Recently, the frequently interactive...

James Gunn and Peter Safran are in the middle of overhauling the DC Universe with Superman Legacy and The Brave and the Bold two of the most high-profile projects in the works.
As Hollywood gets back into action following the actors’ and writers’ strikes, fans have been growingly anxious to discover details about the upcoming films based on Superman and Batman. Gunn has taken to social media to answer some questions from his followers and update them on where he’s at with the scripts of the films.
Gunn said in a post on Threads that the script to Superman Legacy is “99.9%” done adding, “I’m always changing small things but it’s been essentially done since well before the strike.”
Another fan asked the DC Studios co-head if he could debunk a rumored cast list for the Batman and Robin film with Gunn replying, “There’s no script yet.

French director Maïwenn and Johnny Depp hit Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival on Friday for a special screening of period romance Jeanne du Barry followed by a Q&a.
Maïwenn co-wrote, directed and stars as the titular courtesan opposite Depp in the role of King Louis Xv, who falls in love with du Barry and establishes her at the Court of Versailles as his last official mistress.
Red Sea Head of International Programming Kaleem Aftab, who moderated the Q&a, found himself in hot water when he said he had found parts of the film “very funny”.
“You find it funny? It’s a love story. He’s dying. Did you see the film?.” asked Maïwenn, before putting the question out to the audience.
Depp joked to Aftab: “Keep digging. I do have a small shovel downstairs.”
