Did you know
- TriviaGame takes place in its own universe separated from the MCU and the Marvel Comics timeline. That said, Marvel did release several #1 comic books for five of the game's main characters under the Marvel GamerVerse label which do cross over with the game's story. The comics are meant to be a prequel to the game and tell the backstory of each Avenger before the events of A-Day.
- GoofsA photo is hanging in Kamala Khan's bedroom of her as a young girl standing with all of the Avengers together. It is implied that the photo was taken on A-Day. The photo is even included in the game's Collector's Edition and has a dedication written by Kamala on the back hoping her heroes will reassemble some day. Unfortunately, at no point could this photo had been taken. The game opens during Kamala's first steps during the events of A-Day, and from the moment she sets foot on campus she never takes any pictures with the Avengers. Is is possible the photo was fake (photoshop), but the inscription seems to disprove that. It is also possible she took the photo before entering the Avengers campus, but she actually meets the Avengers separately on campus and they act as if it is the first time they had met.
- Quotes
Kamala Khan: When the mob... and the press... and the whole world tell you to move, you plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth and you say no, you move.

Marvel's Avengers was a tough sell from the start, and writing this review feels just as tricky, especially since live service games are always changing. Though the servers are now offline, I managed to put about 30 hours into the game, completing the main campaign along with a bit of the additional content.
This game received a fair share of criticism, some of which I think is justified. That said, there are definitely some diamonds in the rough here.
Let's start with the positives. The single-player campaign is actually pretty decent. I spent around 12 hours on it, and while some of the levels felt like nothing more than arenas-just repeating the same stuff you do in side missions-there were a few levels that offered a more traditional single-player experience. The combat wasn't bad, either. I found myself enjoying the gameplay the most with Captain America, Black Widow, and Ms. Marvel. They added other characters later on, but by then, I had already moved on from the game. I have to admit, the sound effects and animations during fights were quite satisfying at times. I genuinely felt like a superhero. However, after finishing the main story, I struggled to find motivation to keep playing. It was especially confusing when side quests introduced characters that I hadn't encountered in the single-player campaign before.
Now, onto the negatives. This is a live service game, and it shows. There are so many chests packed with collectibles that it quickly becomes overwhelming. On top of that, there are tons of costumes and cosmetics, which can feel like too much. Honestly, it's probably the most "live-service" game I can think of. The level design isn't anything to write home about, either. You basically run around various arenas set in forests, cities, or labs-nothing particularly exciting or memorable.
The playable characters can be hit or miss. I found Iron Man to be really slow and difficult to control, and I had similar issues with Hulk.
In the end, I can recommend the game for its single-player campaign, which you can finish without it dragging on forever.
Overall, I'd give Marvel's Avengers a 6/10. It's not perfect, but there are some fun moments to be had.
