First acting assignment of 1980s supermodel Anu Agarwal, who later achieved fame as a Bollywood star in the 1990s.
Based on a novel by author P. G. Wodehouse.
The sitcom had music composed by eminent ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. There were two ghazals sung by Chitra and Suresh Wadkar and a folk song by Shubha Joshi.
Back in the day when Indian TV was watchable, there used to be a DD serial called "Isi Bahane" which was Indian television's first multi-star cast mega-production from the Producer-Director Aanand Mahendroo starring Saeed Jaffery, Kirron Kher, Mazhar Khan, Mohnish Behl, Anu Agarwal, Sushmita Mukherjee, Liliput, Ajit Pal, Malvika Tewari, and others with music by veteran Jagjit Singh and singers like Chitra Singh, Suresh Wadekar and others was the second-highest TRP gainer in just 14 episodes second only to Ramayan. The then I&B Minister Sh. H.K.L Bhagat gave a statement in Indian Parliament that ISI BAHANE was the second-highest revenue earner for Doordarshan in that year. . Number of episodes: 14 .
