Ms. 45: An Interview with Director Abel Ferrara (2014)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Very good, if all too short, interview with director Abel Ferrara who discusses his film MS. 45. The director starts off talking about getting the screenplay and pretty much filming it exactly as it was written. He talks about not being a part of the writing process and he was pretty much just given the finished script. From here the focus turns to actress Zoe Tamerlis. The discussion starts off with how she was discovered, what it was like working with her and then the rest of the time is devoted to the tragic turns her life would take. Ferrara is always fun to listen to because he shoots it straight and speaks what he thinks. His thoughts on Tamerlis and her troubled life are quite interesting and even he says he gets sad watching the film knowing what would happen to her.
