The first Trinity Seven movie keeps the same great MC personality and general approach to the series. That being said, there are some things in this movie that were no doubt worse than the first season.
The biggest gripe i have with this movie are the sound effects. They are frankly quite annoying and do not at all sound like you would expect/hope. The sounds are sometimes so annoying to the ear that i turned the volume down multiple notches.
I did once again appreciate the lewdness and general perviness that this series is known for, but i wouldn't have minded even more than what was included. The story is once again mediocre at best when it comes to this series, but the action scenes were at least semi-good and entertaining this time around.
To me this movie is a decent follow up to the first season, and while it has its own issues, it keeps the core of the series the same, and executes it in an alright fashion.

A step up from the series, but not great.
Partial Copy Pasta, as many of the series weakness are repeated here.
Not a huge fan of the "Harem" & "Ecchi" genre's to begin with, however seeing a few I realized after that fact qualified really draws out the failings in "Trinity Seven".
-Animation is average to below average, with some distortion / sizing issues at times. -Plot is weak, very formulaic and as a result predictable. -Justification/explanation of the main characters "backstory" is super generic. -Character Development is lacking. -Dialog is weak, better then the series (English dub vs Sub) but not a ton better. -etc..
Overall I'd suggest a pass unless you've exhausted everything else, there are much better similar examples like "No Game, No Life" etc.

It is a great sequel to the series since it never had a season 2 but I'm looking forward for more shows and movies on trinity seven since I like it so much and it was one of my first ever anime that I watched when I was getting into the anime genre.
