You may have enjoyed Spanish actress Paz Vega‘s performances on the big screen in Spanglish, Sex and Lucia, Acts of Vengeance, or Rambo: Last Blood, among others. Or you may have seen her in such TV series as The Oa or Netflix heist drama Kaleidoscope.

Now, she has written and stepped behind the camera for her directorial debut Rita, which celebrated its world premiere on Friday evening during the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival on the Swiss town’s picturesque Piazza Grande. Plus, she plays the mother in the movie. The cast also includes Sofía Allepuz, Alejandro Escamilla, and Roberto Álamo.

Multimedia Music has closed a deal to acquire the music publishing rights from the film music library of Millennium Media, which includes titles such as “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” “London Has Fallen,” “Angel Has Fallen,” “Hitman Wife’s Bodyguard,” “Hellboy,” “The Outpost,” “Mechanic: Resurrection,” “Rambo: Last Blood,” “Blackbird,” “Acts of Vengeance” and “The Expendables 4.”

The deal follows Multimedia Music’s recent music partnership with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners, and its acquisition of STX Entertainment’s music library.

The Millennium Media library includes music from leading composers including Brian Tyler, Atli Orvarsson, Mark Isham, Trevor Morris, David Buckley and Benjamin Wallfisch.

Multimedia Music will co-publish the catalog with current co-owner and administrator Kobalt Music.

February ushers in a new slate of movies and TV shows making their way to HBO and HBO Max, from a slew of James Bond movies to the recently released Olivia Colman-led “Empire of Light” to, yes, the Puppy Bowl.

Marvel is at a spot right now where they’re just kind of rehashing old event stories with a new coat of paint. Considering how much money they made altering the story of Infinity Gauntlet into two feature films, I don’t know if I can blame them. Santa Monica-based Myriad Pictures will finance and launch international sales in Cannes on the Scott Adkins action film Strapped.

Isaac Florentine will direct from a screenplay by Matt Venne. Michael J. Luisi developed the screenplay with Adkins, Florentine and Venne, and will produce with Myriad chief Kirk D’Amico.

Strapped follows a former Mixed Martial Artist who sets out to retrieve his championship belt after he loses it in a brutal robbery. His mission brings him face-to-face not only with the villain behind the attack, but also the heart of his own dark past.

Exclusive: The Wedding Singer and Around The World In 80 Days filmmaker Frank Coraci is set to direct The Legend Of Sinbad for The Expendables outfit Millennium and Middle East firm Eagle Films.

The big canvas English-language film will be based on the iconic One Thousand And One Nights character Sinbad, a fictional Middle East mariner who over the course of seven voyages across the seas east of Africa and south of Asia has spectacular adventures encountering monsters, magic and various supernatural phenomena. The film is expected to have a cast of Middle East origin, including in the lead role.
