“Oppenheimer” cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema won Feature Film at the 38th ASC Awards, March 3 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Oscar favorite beat the other four Oscar nominees: “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro,” Poor Things,” and “El Conde”.
This marked van Hoytema’s first ASC win after three nominations (including “Dunkirk” and “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”) and positions the Dutch-Swedish cinematographer for his first Oscar win. Significantly, “Oppenheimer” represents the culmination of his experimental IMAX collaboration with director Christopher Nolan. The duo achieved a new kind of intimate spectacle with this psychological thriller about physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer (Best Actor nominee Cillian Murphy), the “father of the atomic bomb.” Van Hoytema used the large-format IMAX camera to explore the landscape of faces; namely, Oppenheimer’s in color from his perspective and Salieri-like adversary Admiral Lewis Strauss’ (Best Supporting Actor nominee Robert Downey Jr.) in black-and-white from his.

The thing about fantasy is that it’s supposed to stay separate from reality. When we act it out, we imagine that we’re doing so in a separate world – but if you’re one of those people whose niche interests mean that dating sites keep trying to match you up with your exes, you’ll appreciate that the world is actually pretty small and kinky encounters are just as prone to complications as any other kind.
Matt Campanella and Stephanie Chloé Hepner’s short comedy Daddy Issues, which is screening as part of Tribeca 2023, features a particularly awkward encounter in circumstances which all the more difficult because the young dominant involved in the scene is on probation in a new job, trying hard to impress the boss. He’s spent a long time getting ready, making sure that his appearance is perfect, and it’s really just bad luck that things turn out as.

Dark Nature begins with a much different, and more realistic horror than what follows. Joy is busy in the kitchen making dinner when Derek gets home. It’s obvious he’s not happy and from the way both Joy and the dog react we know that is a very bad thing. She barely escapes, the dog isn’t so lucky.
Six months later Joy is still trying to get past this trauma and her friend Carmen thinks she has the solution. She convinces her to join her, Tara (Helen Belay; Abracadavers), Shaina and some others on a camping trip/therapy session with the somewhat controversial Dr. Dunnely, “You guys talk about her like you’re in a cult”.

The mid-credits sequence in which She-Hulk viewers get to see Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and Madisynn King, supreme party girl, fast become “besties” was not in the original script for Episode 4.
The Disney+ comedy’s Sept. 8 episode opened with magician Donny Blaze (played by Entourage‘s Rhys Coiro) pulling Madisynn (Florida Girls‘ Patty Guggenheim) from the audience as a volunteer and then sending her into an interdimensional portal that the Mystic Arts dropout opened with his sling ring. Some time later, Madisynn fell through another portal into Wong’s (MCU vet Benedict Wong) Kamar-Taj crib, where she promptly spoiled his bingeing of The Sopranos.

"You're always funny." Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for an indie romantic comedy titled Daddy Issues, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Laura Holliday. Not to be confused with the other indie dramedy also titled Daddy Issues. This film originally premiered at the Valley Film Festival in 2018 and is only getting released this summer. When her emotionally distant father dies and leaves her his company, a 20-something, hapless stand-up comic named Henri must move from London to Los Angeles to take over the family business and somehow try to win her father’s approval, even after his death. "Henri finds humor in her darkest moments in this quirky slice-of life black comedy. That is, after all, how the light gets in." Starring Kimberley Datnow along with Tanner Rittenhouse, Alice Carroll Johnson, and Francis Lloyd Corby. Another of these strangely personal films that really doesn't have much to say at all.

A production designer known for his work in the commercial world, and on high-end music videos for the likes of Beyoncé and P!nk, Jc Molina had his work cut out for him on Honey Boy, helping to define a visual approach to a film where incredibly raw memory and gorgeous fantasy would collide.
Written by actor Shia Labeouf as part of court-mandated therapy, Honey Boy examines the turbulent childhood and early adult years of an actor’s life, as he struggles to reconcile with his father, an alcoholic ex-rodeo clown whose abuse and neglect were both intensely felt from a young age.
Approaching the first narrative feature of Alma Har’el with a cinematic eye and avant-garde flare, prepared to be unprepared for what would transpire everyday on set—with Labeouf playing his own father, shortly after being diagnosed with severe Pstd—Molina says that the Honey Boy shoot was...

Based on the Japanese popular novel “Papa to Musume no Nanokanan”, which has already been adapted into a Japanese TV show in 2007 and into the Korean movie “Daddy You, Daughter Me”, “Daddy Issues” was equally successful with the aforementioned, breaking the Vietnamese box office with over 500,000 audience turning out in the first week. The story follows the concept of the body-swap, but entails a number of elements that set it apart. Let us take thing from the beginning, though.
The story revolves around Hai, who works for the creative department of a large cosmetics company, and his daughter, Chau, who goes to high school. The two have suffered significantly after Hais wife died, 7 years ago, but the unusual thing about their relationship is that Hai is the absent-minded, immature one and Chau the responsible one, actually running the household while also being a model-student. Chau is tired of all the...

The man Kay considers her father even makes an appearance in the video, though he definitely isn’t the subject of the song. With its...

At her Thursday night show at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, Lana Del Rey brought out more special guests than ever. And while there was no Don Henley, Del Rey did manage to bring out Chris Isaak, who performed his hit song “Wicked Game” in a sparkling black-and-pink nudie suit with the pop star.
“I don’t know if I can sing this song as beautifully as he can,” Del Rey said when introducing Isaak, adding, “We can’t be in the middle of Hollywood and not hear the sexiest song of all time.
