LaVona was born on the same day Arizona became a state--100 years ago. Naturally, she's felt her own identity has always been tied to her state, and between parades and parties celebrating their centennial, she shares her ideas on what has kept her in her small rural community for a century. ARIZONA is part of the documentary series STATES OF AMERICA, a new project from director Brad Barber (PEACE OFFICER). In an increasingly fragmented nation, States of America addresses questions of identity and belonging through the lens of 50 short, lyrical documentaries featuring one person in every state as they explore a sense of connection to the place they call home. This is a story of Arizona.
