Wow this film... I have no words. This is just weird snuff porn made by someone with a camcorder and green screen. Absolutely insane and badly acted. Can't believe this was once an option to BUY! Avoid like the plague.

Demented (2021) is a bad movie that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a recently engaged young lady who is kidnapped, raped and tortured. While held hostage she has visions that warn her of things to come and things that have happened. Can a determined detective find her before it's too late?
This movie is directed by Nigel Hartwell (Dead by Dawn) and has a horror all star cast that consists of Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Bret Hart (WWF), Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), Angel Williams (TNA) and Dakota House (North of 60).
I never thought I'd watch a movie with Felissa Rose and Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, but here it is. The storyline for this picture is pretty crazy, fairly straightforward but wild at the same time. The writing, acting and dialogue is very bad. The killer is annoying and you can't take anything he says seriously. The horror elements are dreadful and the CGI blood and throat slash scenes are a 0/10. While this has an all star cast, they are all way under utilized.
Overall, this movie is terrible but it was worth watching due to the random cast. I would score this a 3/10 but recommend seeing once.

Don't expect to see memorable kills or blood with this one. Overall, Demented has a very interesting story that could have been something a lot more than what it is if they would have embraced the snuff angle a little more. The snuff angle paints scenes of gore and mayhem for most horror fans but in Demented we get a masked man and a woman tied to a bed while not so vile or vulgar things are said to them. The killer is very underwhelming and the paranormal portion of the film lacks atmosphere and tension for it be effective. I respect the hard work that went into this one but I'm not a fan. As always, you should make up your own opinion about the film and not let my review do that for you.

Just no!
Where to start???
The film had the budget of a penny sweet shop and the kind of script that had been written by a child!
The acting was about as realistic as a Barbie doll and the plot had more holes in it than a pair of fish net stockings.
I can safely say that I feel the cast and crew owe me for the hour and a half of my life that I wasted watching this film and for the counceling I will need to recover from the garbage that is Demented.
Worst of all it ended with to be continued. To the writers, cast and crew please please please do not make or release a second part to this film.

I don't mean your Hulu Watch List, I mean a potential threats list.
Anyone can leave a disclaimer at the beginning of a movie and say it was partially made to raise awareness for something - but this entire "movie" was an obviously socially unhinged manchild awkwardly living out his fantasies on film, thinking it was award-winning amazing.
There was only premise, no plot. There was no actual back and forth dialogue, there was only different people saying lines out loud. There was no acting, so that wasn't what he wanted to showcase. It wasn't the special effects and chase scenes that he wanted to show off. There was no horror, only awkward squealing while people tolerated this guy playing dress-up, playing with his fun new voice distortion toy and dancing around like he thought he was a pretty pretty princess.
The only thing more dangerous than the genius level methodical/strategic serial killers out there are the narcissistic man boys playing pretend and desperately trying out to live out their fantasies with an audience. Why? Because they snap when they don't get recognition for being the gods they vehemently know they are - and then, in a fit of rage at the injustice of the world not agreeing with their narcissism, they actually run breathy, sweaty and wobbling out into the night to do the things they always dreamed about doing to all those women that rejected them, but with none of the intelligence, restraint or psychosis of their heroes.
Because that's what this was. This wasn't a horror movie. It was Nigel Hartwell badly, embarrassingly copycatting his heroes and someone needs to tag a gps on that boy.
*Apologies if he/him is not their chosen pronoun.

Obviously the producer's barely disguised fetish with use of racial slurs, terrible dialogue, sex over horror, terrible special effects, etc, etc.
This is terrible and I just hope this gets lost and no one watches it accidently, the story makes no sense and seems like a poor excuse for the actor who plays "Chuck" to grab the breasts of the actresses, the story is too static and only takes place in the cabin for the majority of the time, I got nothing much else to say it was just maybe a waste of time either maybe worth it for how bad it actually was, I can't decide much on it and that's a problem.

The Demented do not have good intentions (no pun intended), the movie is the one who has them. Tackling a topic (again no pun intended with the wrestlers attached to this) like the one here, is not an easy feat. Spinning a bit and trying to make it special with twisting things up a bit (in the way it is told) is a neat feat too.
Still the movie has quite a few flaws to say the least. Even though we have some horror icons, there are more than a few cringe worthy moments. And then there are the not so easy things to endure. They are necessary for the story, but how much do you really want to see? And how much is necessary to drive home a point? Exactly - it does not go into exploitation territory, but it still is way out there. Your own sensible self will determine if this is something for you ... or maybe if you are a fan of one or more actors/celebrities in this.

After having a shower from the creep factor of Demented, I realized that this film kinda shocked me. Although very low budget the story held my interest till the end. It was cool that they got Bret Hart and Felissa Rose in the film, even though they didn't clash as advertised. The film is trying to send important message about sex trafficking while trying to scare the hell out of women. Wish there was more gore for the horror factor but the psychological is there. The end of the film isn't really the end, which makes me think there is more to the underlying story. If this film had a budget I could see it having great success, but I'm sure will get lost in the 1000s of titles on prime.

It is clear that the guy who left the previous review didn't watch the film or is just someone that likes leaving bad reviews on everyone's films. Demented is not a documentary, it's a retro style horror film. It's worth a watch. Leave your comments on what you think about it!

The film has slow start but managed to keep my interest. Starts off like most other horror films do travelling to a cottage deep in the woods! I was expecting this to be a slasher film by the poster art. But it ended up being a supernatural thriller with horrifying elements! More of an exploitation film into sex trafficking and the world and business of snuff films. I think this was good attempt of making a different type of horror instead of the classic slasher. Although the acting is bad at times, and clearly didn't have much of a budget there is a sense of realism and the message is very clear if you are a woman don't trust anyone.
I look forward to seeing the sequel to see where the story goes!
