First of all; why was there even a mummy on the cover of the movie? Secondly; why are Tara Reid and Lou Ferrigno even listed on the movie's cover/poster?
And actually the movie's cover had potential, it was definitely something that caught my attention right away, as I do like a proper creature feature. And I've always enjoyed movies with the undead - in their many shapes and forms.
Right, well when I sat down to watch the 2021 horror mystery movie titled "Mummy Dearest" and based on the movie's cover/poster, then of course I was expecting to see a creature feature with an ancient mummified corpse as the main attraction. Imagine my surprise when it turned out that this was by no means even remotely close to being a monster movie.
Instead I was in for an hour and 34 minutes of pure rubbish, as written by writer Jared Vineyard. And this movie was a boring story about a strained relationship between a disabled mother in a wheelchair and her prudish daughter. And that storyline wasn't even remotely interesting in any way.
Spiced up with some otherworldly hallucinations, apparently, makes it okay to put the mummy on the movie's cover/poster. And also slap both Tara Reid and Lou Ferrigno on the cover alongside said mummy, despite the fact that they weren't even in the movie for five minutes, even with their screen time put together. It was just bad. Of course, they were on the cover to lure people in - I fell for it. Make sure you don't.
There was just no point to the storyline as directed by director White Cross. And I have to say that "Mummy Dearest" offered no entertainment for me, and it ended up being something else entirely than what I had anticipated and expected.
This movie was just downright laughable and bad.
My rating of this 2021 abysmal movie experience lands on a two out of ten stars. At least there were some proper production value to the movie, but that hardly qualifies for being entertaining. You might want to do yourself a favor and skip on White Cross's "Mummy Dearest". Some of us suffered through this ordeal of a movie so you don't have to.

Everybody to editor: "Don't forget to take away the shadow of the drone in the 4th shot."
Editor to everybody: "I'm trying to save this movie!"
I think everybody did their best. In their own way. But their best was not good enough.
They'll probably do better in their next project. It can only go uphill from here.
Fans be warned. Tara Reid has about one minute screen time. Lou Ferrigno little more than 90 seconds.

Michael Pare', Tara Reid, and Lou Ferrigno's screen times combined is barely 5 minutes. They must have worked on this movie during their toilet-breaks on other movies.
And what's with the actress who plays Scarlett? She's always gasping for air, as if she's just run a marathon.
No scares, no mummy, no real plot. Forget about it. Makes Tom Cruise's version of 'The Mummy' look like a good movie.

Apart from the ridiculous narrative, the bad audio and bad acting, this was great.
8 out of 975 million.

This movie is flat out terrible. It is actually a good comedy it is that bad. Don't waste your time. There is nothing good about this movie. The funniest part is when the guy is "playing"
the panio when the music does not even line up with the keys he is hitting.

This movie was one of the worst I've ever seen!!!
Here's why!
1. The acting = terrible.
2. The dialogues = horrible 3. The script= deplorable 4. The cast = B movie stars (the short scenes with some better known actors can't save the movie) 5. The special effects= non existent 6. The location = dangerous !! ( The balcony of that crappy house looks like it could collapse anytime...) 7. The Mask/Makeup design = disastrous ( they forgot to cover the mummy actresses chest and her real skin at scene 1:03:40 )
ps: ...even the ED WOOD movies was back then way better and more creative)
