The Director/writer wanted to tell the story after the BP oil spill of one fishing family suffering the after effects. Big Oil still making gains while shrimp and environment suffers.
This short story is multi-layered and besides telling the story of what happened with one family I do feel it briefly touched on bigger issues but probably would have needed more time to explain them better.
