This is supposed to be an adventure comedy, but you can as well add drama and neonoir on top of that. its a speedy and hilarious movie about two breaknecks, a girl of sleasy properties, and a drunk socalled looser, that meets in a bar one night. they dont want to befriend eachother, but serendipity will something else. its funny, its sharp in the linguism, it balances a fine line of benign adult romance and can stand as a good example of what all of us nonaddicts, non nympomaniacs and not too wealthy miss in our daily living.
the technical production are really average,so are the sound product, but the screenwriter has made an effort on making us pay attention, cause the dialouges and trialouges are hefty sharp and filled with nearly all the f-words in the OED. the actors who took the task of doing the deeds the characters does, are fenomenal in all its simplicity. the hole in the boiler room door are an excellent example of its crazy deeds.
so do the dios become a duo? well watch and you will surtainly learn, its worth a try,the grumpy old man thinks. this is fresh new age comedy at its best.

The Go-Getters had been on my radar for a little while. The poster stood out from the rest and the premise was interesting:
A deadbeat drunk, Owen and a junkie hooker, Lacie join forces to take on the city, each other, and their own personal shortcomings while trying to scam $98 for bus tickets out of town.
I like both our main characters, and I'll say they both have good chemistry. I'll also say that the way they play off each other comedically is very good, I had a lot of chuckles and some laughs. Not that I want to insult the movie, but this movie plays best when you're having a really 'meh' day; not a sh$t day, but a really 'meh' sort of day, it'll actually make your day. Has a lot of 'gross' but darkly humorous moments that'll catch you off guard. The more serious moments also work themselves into the storyline very well, especially with Owen's brother Kevin. I wish this movie had been a little big longer, at least to have more comedic moments between Owen and Lacie, they really do have a lot of good chemistry.
I'm looking forward to director Jeremy LaLonde's next movie, and I'm giving The Go-Getters a 6 out of 10

Made it 20 mins in and had to turn it off it was so bad. Not funny but very stupid and bland.
I do not know what has happened to comedy in the last few years but really good comedies are seeming to be a thing of the past.
If i could have i would have rated this -5

I don't usually write reviews - this is my first one on IMDB.
Usually with smaller productions like this you have a ton of fake reviews and usually they're pretty dismal.
But I'm in Scotland, UK - and have just watched this movie.
And I have to give credit to the cast and crew! It's brilliant!!
Much better than expected. I've given it 9/10 and that's VERY high for me.
Mainly because of how hard they tried, the humour, the cast, and all done on a budget. But looked professional enough to be a mainstream movie.
It was very engrossing and addictive. I really could connect with the characters.
So do yourself a favour - and watch it!
It may not be to everyone's taste - but my GF & I thought it was a lot of fun and we're in our 40's!

A tale of learning that sometimes you think it's better running away from your problems than dealing with them. Entertaining take on it.

What can I say...Very cool! Non stop pure entertainment, never once did I get bored or think about fast forwarding. Wish it was an tv series so it could go on and on and on! Kind of reminded me of "It's always sunny in Philadelphia", without the filtered cussing. Real people, real cussing, real world.....not the disney type conservative filtered version comedy, Definitely not for kids or family!. For the record I consider myself conservative but hate censorship in any form. Yeah, there were not realistic parts but that's all part of comedy in my opinion. Just a real fun movie. Wish there was much more.....
I don't review movies often, but I just had to say something. This movie will leave me thinking....I enjoyed it that much!

The Go-Getters is hilarious throughout, with nonstop energy and funny quips from start to finish. Committed performances, great writing and directing, well shot - everything is on point. I love the characters, and didn't want it to end. One of my favorite films of 2018.
