I saw this at GenreBlast Film Festival and it was awesome! Super creative and funny and poignant too! Definitely see it if you get a chance.
A sinister conspiracy theory short which certainly made me try and think if I knew of anyone, other than a celebrity, who had died in the bathroom. I couldn't. Fausti directs and leads in this polished, disturbing horror. It certainly plays sickening tricks with the brain. Accomplished performances and production values including audio which feels professional in quality. Soundtrack is understated, but very effective.
"If you want to be famous you have to make sacrifices" growls Mick (played by director Michael Fausti) at the beginning of this engrossing grindhouse short that explores a surprisingly common fate amongst celebrities such as Lenny Bruce and Elvis Presley. I was lucky to see Dead Celebrities at the Horror-on-sea festival in Southend and it went down an absolute treat. It's one of those films where you come out discussing it afterwards and then Googling to learn more about the facts behind what Mick reveals. Although the film is mainly set in a bathroom a lot happens in its 10 minute running time where Michael plays all the celebrities mentioned. It is packed with iconic pop culture references that I guarantee you'll be looking up and there is a lovely twist that creeps up from behind you. I don't want to give away any plot details as you really do need to go in blind, but all I can say is that Dead Celebrities takes you on a suspenseful journey that throws in some blood and horror along the way. Oh, and it is funny too! Catch it if you can.

Stylish independent horror which is a genuinely inventive tale about the cult of celebrity. Definitely worth a watch. - Horror Singh
Fueled by writer/director Michael Fausti's commanding lead performance(s), "Dead Celebrities" is a clever little chiller that has a lot of gory fun with the odd fact that so many famous people seem to die while in the bath. Can't say too much without spoiling the fun, but this film is well worth your time in whatever venue you can catch it. It was an easy selection for the very first year of my Texas Terrors Film Festival. Recommended!

Caught this short at the beginning of the year and is a fantastic concept which has the privilege of also being brilliantly executed. I love indie and underground film-making so it pretty much feels tailor made for me. It is really cinematic and wears it's love for no-fi and grindhouse cinema on it's sleeve. It is also crammed with pop references in a most iconoclastic manner. Director Michael Fausti is also the star and manages to play 90% of all the roles which he manages to pull off in a stylistic flourish as well as underscoring the film's economic nature.
I won't detail the plot here as I recommend you go in blind and enjoy what it has to offer. It also boasts some great use of location filming and some of the sets are beautiful to say the least. Fausti really manages to cram so much into the 10mins-or-so running time. An absolutely tight little number which pays beautiful attention to detail. Rewards several re-watches. Catch it at a festival whilst you still can.

I'm been watching a lot of short films of late, and was starting to lose faith, and then I saw dead Celebrities. For me, this is what a short film should be...not 5 mins worth of self-indulgent opening titles followed by ropey acting and meandering storyline. Dead Celebrities is crisp, funny, intriguing and stylish. A well-constructed script with solid performances and beautiful camera work. I know I'm watching a good short when I'm not watching the time tick by, and Dead Celebrities was over way too quickly for me. Top job!
