Just discovered this series on Acorn only to discover that it is only one season. It is funny, satirical, and filled with gentle humor. Enjoy Series one and then get irritated that that is all there is.
Hilarious! Lots of in-jokes here, like that the actor playing the king is called Charles Edwards, which happen to be the real HRH's two first names, or that it's common knowledge here in Merry Old that "Chuck" has let it be known that he wants to be called Henry IX "when the old bat kicks the bucket" (Alastair Campbell's words, not mine), and that Annette Crosbie really does look like the current incumbent, even more so than Helen Mirren! Makes one wonder if the writers have a channel into Buck House...

...I imagine the set up to be at Buck House (without the funny sketches!) Wish there were more series. Update: I have just realised how much the character David Budd in the series Bodyguard seems
to have been based on Byron!
Where to start? From the terrible accents, to the complete disregard for actual protocol, they could have been excused if it was in any way shape or form, funny... it just isn't. Not satire, not laugh out loud, just completely dull, dated, and uninspired writing. Dreadful gay stereotyping thrown in for good measure.
