When it was announced "Beaches" was going to be remade with Idina Menzel & Nia Long starring, Bette Midler took to Twitter with the following tweet: "Can't wait to see Idina Menzel as CC in Lifetime's Beaches! DON'T TELL ME THE ENDING!"
This is a remake of the 1988 original movie starring Bette Midler as CC Bloom and Barbara Hershey as Hilary.
CC has a Great Dane at one point in the Original. In the remake, you can see a statue of a Great Dane in CC's house during the song "Last Time".
