Terry Crews has signed with CAA for representation.
Crews started his career as a professional linebacker and defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers and Washington Commanders before he retired from the NFL in 1997 and pursued acting.

After partnering with Josh Safdie for the cinematic heart attack that is Uncut Gems, Adam Sandler is reteaming with the acclaimed director for his latest Netflix comedy special, Adam Sandler: Love You. Safdie’s Adam Sandler: Love You trailer finds the Sandman in good spirits as he returns to the stage for a fresh stand-up act. Adam Sandler: Love You premieres on August 27, 2024, globally on Netflix.
“You guys are the best! I love you! I need you! Help me,” Sandler shouts to a packed venue as he takes to the dimly lit stage in the Adam Sandler: Love You trailer. Sandler, forever the center of attention, finds himself signing jerseys backstage, tuning his guitar, and wondering how the f**k dog managed to steal his spotlight. As the footage plays, we find Sandler shredding away on his acoustic guitar, dedicating songs to audience members, and professing his love for the...

Nearly six years after the release of his last comedy special, Adam Sandler is returning to Netflix with “Adam Sandler: Love You.” The comedy special directed by “Good Time” and “Uncut Gems” co-director Josh Safdie will premiere globally on the streamer Aug. 27.
The first trailer for the special shows Sandler in a surprisingly intimate theater rather than a large arena. After joking with the audience a bit, he gets down to the brass tacks of what everyone can expect.
“Anyway, I talk a lot and then I sing and then we do a bunch of s–t. All right, so here it goes,” Sandler says.
The ever-moving camera then cuts between Sandler onstage with mic in hand, closeups of him signing shirts and a car driving away as its being chased by a crowd of people. “We’ve lost control,” Sandler says as a dog appears from backstage and happily greets the audience.

Richard Lewis, the beloved comedian, stand-up comedy all-star, and series regular on Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, has died after suffering a heart attack. He was 76. Lewis’ death was confirmed by his publicist, Jeff Abraham. “His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time,” Abraham said.
Richard Lewis’ comedic journey began with dual debuts in the New York and Los Angeles comedy arenas in the 1970s. Mentioned in the same breaths as comedy legends like Andy Kaufman, Richard Belzer, and Elayne Boosler, Lewis’ comedy style was darker and more self-deprecating than his fellow kings and queens of comedy. Not afraid to lampoon his shortcomings, Richard Lewis shared grim comedy about his addictions and bizarre thinking.
Lewis revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in April 2023 and planned to retire from his stand-up career.

The project is the second comedy special from Sandler and the streamer following 2018’s 100% Fresh, directed by Steven Brill with contributions from Paul Thomas Anderson, the latter of which directed Sandler in Punch-Drunk Love.

Additionally, his production banner Happy Madison has produced Father of the Year, The Wrong Missy and The Out-laws.

Adam Sandler has set a new comedy special at Netflix — this time directed by Josh Safdie.
The project continues Sandler’s string of collaborations with Safie, who co-directed him in 2019’s “Uncut Gems” alongside his brother Benny Safdie. Sandler also starred in the brothers’ 2020 short film “Goldman v. Silverman” and is set to lead an upcoming feature set in the world of sports memorabilia to be directed by Josh and produced by Benny, though the latter told Variety in January that the film was “on pause.”
Currently untitled, the special will be Sandler’s second at Netflix, following up on his 2018 set “100% Fresh” — which went on to receive a 90% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. Sandler has worked on numerous projects for Netflix: In 2023, he led the voice cast of the streamer’s animated musical comedy film “Leo” and starred opposite Idina Menzel in “You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah,...

When Scott Stuber arrived at Netflix in 2017, some of its biggest films to date were the Idris Elba drama “Beasts of No Nation,” the Adam Sandler comedy “Sandy Wexler,” or the Will Smith fantasy action film “Bright.” Some were hits or got some awards buzz, and sure they had new films by Noah Baumbach and Angelina Jolie, but Netflix at that time was still getting booed at the Cannes Film Festival for releasing Bong Joon-Ho’s “Okja.”
Under Stuber’s watch, that all changed. Netflix would be the place where Martin Scorsese, Bradley Cooper, Alfonso Cuarón, Jane Campion, and more would want to make their passion projects. It was the place The Rock, the Russo Brothers, Zack Snyder, and Shawn Levy took their tentpoles to make some of the streamer’s biggest hits to date. He spent a fortune to get the rights to two “Knives Out” sequels. And it...

Adam Sandler’s daughter Sunny Sandler is now a movie star in her own right, but before she had a clear sense of how Hollywood works, she wasn’t thrilled about seeing her dad kiss actresses for his films.
Sandler appeared as a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday to promote his new Netflix animated feature, Leo, in which his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, join him in the voice cast. He and Hudson reminisced about co-starring together in Netflix’s 2017 title Sandy Wexler, with Hudson remembering that her son, David, who was 6 years old at the time, was confused as to why she was kissing her co-star in a scene.
For his part, Sandler responded that his own daughters have sometimes struggled with seeing him smooch actresses for his projects, with Sunny, now 15, having had a stronger reaction to it than her older sister, Sadie, now 17. Sunny and...

For a movie that's mostly about how friendships are forever, the 2010 Adam Sandler comedy "Grown Ups" may have had fans wondering about a conspicuously missing face from the sequel. For much of Sandler's career on the big screen, he's been joined by longtime friend and collaborator Rob Schneider. Starting with 1998's "The Waterboy," the two actors have appeared in well over a dozen movies together, from the likes of "Mr. Deeds" and "The Longest Yard" to even an animated movie like "Eight Crazy Nights." Contrary to recent rumors, the bond still seems to be going strong as the two ended up joining forces again in 2017's "Sandy Wexler" and once more in "Hubie Halloween" three years ago. But that hasn't stopped fans from wondering why, after such a prominent role in "Grown Ups," Schneider didn't return for another go-around in "Grown Ups 2."

Throughout Adam Sandler's deeply wide-ranging career, the talented actor has delivered some pretty wild performances that have ping-ponged from one extreme to the other. After his run through the '90s and early aughts included hits like "Happy Gilmore," "The Wedding Singer," and especially "Punch-Drunk Love," he more or less lapsed into autopilot mode with several undemanding comedies before roaring back to life with "Sandy Wexler," "The Meyerowitz Stories," and "Uncut Gems." Well, now audiences are about to see Sandler as they never have before: as a lizard.
Netflix's "Leo" might seem like yet another unrefined streaming comedy aimed at the lowest common denominator, but the premise of Sandler voicing an aged class pet who's suffered through countless boring and monotonous school years performing for the amusement of obnoxious kids kind of sounds ... intriguing! The Sandlers enjoyed a rare family night out for "The Out-Laws" premiere in Los Angeles on June 26. Adam Sandler made an appearance with his wife, Jackie, and their 14-year-old daughter, Sunny, at Regal LA Live theater to celebrate the upcoming Netflix film, which he coproduced. The trio posed on the red carpet together and alongside several members of the cast, including Nina Dobrev and Adam DeVine. Sticking to his famously casual red carpet style, Adam wore a blue Hawaiian shirt and sneakers, while Jackie stunned in white satin minidress and matching blazer, and Sunny subtly coordinated with both of her parents in a silky blue floral dress.
Sunny last hit the red carpet with her famous parents for the March premiere of "Murder Mystery 2," which her older sister, Sadie, also attended. The sibling pair are set to star in their dad's coming-of-age comedy "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,...

Richard Lewis, the 78-year-old comedian and co-star of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” posted a video on Sunday to give a little update about his life and career. He knows that fans have been wondering if he’ll ever tour again. The answer to that appears to be “no” due to a feeling of completion with what he’s done with that art form after 50 years, but also a series of health problems.
In the joke-free but still upbeat video, Lewis says that three-and-a-half years ago he completed a tour and felt that if he were to stop, he’d be going out on top. Then, afterward, “the shit hit the fan,” as he put it, and he underwent four back-to-back surgeries, including a hip replacement. Two years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Adam Sandler will portray an astronaut in Netflix’s untitled adaptation of Jaroslav Kalfar’s novel “The Spaceman of Bohemia.”
The story centers on an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious, ancient dust, when he finds his earthly life falling to pieces. He turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together — a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.

Maybe “Uncut Gems” earned back some of the good will that Adam Sandler sacrificed at the altar of his lucrative Netflix deal and the laugh-free career lows that came with it. Maybe the world is such a hellmouth right now that 90-year-old June Squibb wearing a t-shirt that says “boner donor” is all it takes to feel a little better about things for a hot second. Or maybe — just maybe — Sandler’s latest streaming comedy is a step up from the paid vacation of “Murder Mystery” and the high-pitched swill of “Sandy Wexler.” I honestly don’t know. That might be a dereliction of duty for a film critic whose only job is to explain why the things they watch are good or bad, but anyone who’s sure of anything these days is just lying to themselves.
And ? Sure, “Hubie Halloween” feels like it was written in the span...

The downside of making a movie for Netflix is that it may never play in theaters, and could very well be swallowed into the streaming platform’s bottomless content pit while millions of people speed-binge the latest season of “Selling Sunset” (that Christine has got to be stopped). The upside of making a movie for Netflix is, of course, that the worst pandemic in 100 years won’t stop it from being released. While more traditional studios have shunted the rest of their 2020 lineup off to next year, Netflix is going full-steam ahead with a robust lineup of Original fare. The streamer’s October lineup alone runs the gamut from Oscar bait like “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” to vital new indies like Radha Blank’s Sundance standout “The 40-Year-Old Version,” Kirsten Johnson’s mirthfully inventive “Dick Johnson Is Dead,” Ben Wheatley’s riff on “Rebecca,” a documentary about David Attenborough,...

Hubie Halloween, the next Adam Sandler-headlined Netflix film in fulfillment of the actor’s lucrative deal with the streaming giant, is imminently arriving on the streaming platform. Interestingly, the comedy not only provides vicarious celebration for a 2020 Halloween season likely to be squelched by the health crisis, but also showcases Sandler revisiting his character well of lovable imbeciles with quixotic missions, as teased in the first trailer
Appropriately set in the witchy hamlet of Salem, Massachusetts, the film centers on Sandler’s character, Hubie Dubois, a kind-but-eccentric local Halloween enthusiast, whose self-appointed role as a nebby safety patroller as earned him some derision. However, the threat of an escaped criminal and unexplained—seemingly supernatural—disappearances has turned this year’s fall holiday into an ordeal for the ever-vigilant Hubie, even in the face of incredulous authorities.

Adam Sandler fans are in for a very “Hubie Halloween” when the upcoming family comedy film hits Netflix on October 7. Sandler stars in “Hubie Halloween” as Hubie DuBois, a well-intentioned but dopey and frequently-mocked community volunteer who spends each Halloween exhaustively ensuring his neighbors celebrate the holiday safely. The film will follow Hubie as he finds himself at the center of a real murder investigation during one Halloween night.
Sandler stars in “Hubie Halloween” alongside Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Maya Rudolph, Rob Schneider, Kenan Thompson, Steve Buscemi, Michael Chiklis, Tim Meadows, Noah Schnapp, Paris Berelc, China Anne McClain and Shaquille O’Neal. The film marks Sandler’s first film with Bowen in over two decades; the duo last starred as love interests in 1996’s “Happy Gilmore.”

It seems like you can’t navigate through any of Netflix’s menus or functions without stumbling across at least one Adam Sandler movie, with the actor becoming an almost ubiquitous presence on the streaming service since first signing an exclusive deal to produce a string of original films that are generally terrible, but also hugely popular with subscribers.
Netflix plan on riding the Sandler gravy train for a while yet, too, following reports that they’re keen to tie the 53 year-old down for even longer even though the two sides only renewed their agreement in January of this year, with Happy Madison Productions picking up $275 million for their near-constant contributions to the Top 10 most-watched list.
The past few years have shown both sides of Sandler, with the critically-acclaimed Uncut Gems featuring his undoubted talents as a dramatic actor, while Murder Mystery saw him revert back to type and headline...

It was just starting to look like Adam Sandler got his groove back. His performance in Noah Baumbach’s “The Meyerowitz Stories” was among the best of his career, his PTA-approved comedy special “Adam Sandler 100% Fresh” was a rapid-fire reminder of what people loved about him in the first place, and — judging by paparazzi shots from the set — his performance as a Diamond district jeweler in the Safdie brothers’ forthcoming “Uncut Gems” could redefine screen acting as we know it. Sandler’s talent and creative potential have never been in doubt, but at long last it finally seemed like he was putting them to use on a more regular basis.
And maybe he is. Maybe the terrible Netflix movies Sandler churns out to satisfy the streaming platform’s deal with his Happy Madison production company are all part of a long (and ultra-lucrative) con to make people drop to their...

Netflix isn’t wasting any time when it comes to adding some notable names to the second season of The Kominsky Method. The streaming giant announced today that Jane Seymour, Jacqueline Bisset and Paul Reiser will join the sophomore season of the Golden Globe-winning comedy in recurring roles.
Seymour will play Madelyn who is described as a seventy-something, well-to-do woman whom Norman (Alan Arkin) had a mad love affair with in the ’60s before he met his wife. After fifty years, the two reunite and start it again. Bisset steps into the role of Gabrielle who is Mindy’s (Sarah Baker) mom and Sandy’s (Michael Douglas) French ex-wife who delights in still being able to push the buttons of her ex-husband. Rounding out the trio is Reiser who plays a sixty-something high school teacher who gets romantically involved with Mindy.
Created by Chuck Lorre, The Kominsky Method was recently renewed for a second season.

Rob Schneider was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1990 to 1994, appearing in sketches opposite Adam Sandler, Dana Carvey, and Chris Farley, but the comedian has a bone to pick with the NBC sketch comedy series these days. Speaking to the New York Daily News, Schneider criticizes “SNL” for being so outspokenly anti-Donald Trump.
“The fun of ‘Saturday Night Live’ was always you never knew which way they leaned politically,” Schneider said. “You kind of assumed they would lean more left and liberal, but now the cat’s out of the bag they are completely against Trump, which I think makes it less interesting because you know the direction the piece is going.”
Part of the issue is Alec Baldwin’s problematic impression of President Trump, says Schneider. The comedian said Baldwin’s role on the show as Trump is hurt by the fact he has “nothing but a fuming,...

Adam Sandler is officially making a movie with Josh and Benny Safdie. Deadline confirms the actor will lead “Uncut Gems,” the latest feature from the indie film duo behind “Heaven Knows What” and last year’s critical darling “Good Time.” The casting marks the second Safdie feature in a row to star a prominent actor in the lead role. Robert Pattinson played the lead in “Good Time” and earned some of the best reviews of his career for the performance.
Plot specifics for “Uncut Gems” are being kept under wraps, although the film is set in New York City’s diamond district. The screenplay was written by the Safdie brothers and their regular collaborator Ronald Bronstein. A24 is backing the drama after the company’s success with the Safdies on “Good Time” last summer. Producers include Scott Rudin and Eli Bush through Scott Rudin Produtions and Sebastian Bear-McClard and Oscar Boyson through Elara Pictures.

To many, Adam Sandler was in no need of a career makeover. Even with Netflix films like The Ridiculous 6 and Sandy Wexler, many were drawn to his schtick and comedic talents -- even if those talents were misplaced in terrible films. Still, after decades of being the go-to "funny guy," it is refreshing to see Sandler step back and display his acting chops in more nuanced ways. We saw this in 2002 with Punch Drunk Love, and we are witnessing it again in 2017 with The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), the latest from Noah Baumbach.
Watching Sandler explore the idiosyncrasies of a complicated character is so fleeting, that sometimes, it is vital for us to also take a step back and realize: Adam Sandler can be a great actor. (Aotn) There’s something about some of Marlon Wayans’ career choices this decade that could understandably be seen as “frustrating.” The youngest of the Wayans brothers has demonstrated a great knack for physical comedy (the first two entries in the Scary Movie franchise and even the goofy yet riotous White Chicks) and an equally impressive potential as a serious actor (his dramatic turn in Requiem for a Dream), but his latest – the declining Haunted House movies and the abysmal Fifty Shades of Black, which actually managed to make the series it’s spoofing look like Last Tango in Paris by comparison – are a an embarrassing nose dive in comedic standard. Enter Michael Tiddes’ Naked, not the 1993 Cannes winner by Mike Leigh, Netflix’s latest comedic offering and a breath of stale air that actually manages to find a hint of freshness and showcase some of the good qualities of Mr.

While Cannes has not exactly been light on controversy this year, one film in its lineup was easily singled out as a suspicious inclusion when the official selection was first announced. After all, not only does The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) bare the Netflix logo, it also carries in tow the reputation of one Adam Sandler. Sandler is an actor who has proven capable of eliciting emotion in films like Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me, but whose recent string of reviled (if lucrative) clunkers includes The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over and Sandy Wexler (all of which are also Netflix fare). Blissfully, in the hands of Noah Baumbach, Sandler transcends his usual shtick and rounds out a highly competent ensemble cast that together...

Amid all the poorly received Netflix Originals, let us not forget that Adam Sandler dabbles in more serious fare from time to time. It doesn’t always work out — “The Cobbler” was among the most pilloried films of 2014 — but Noah Baumbach’s “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)” has emerged as an early favorite at Cannes. Sandler spoke about the film during a press conference at the festival, saying that he “couldn’t believe we were doing this movie” when he first read the script.

One of the greatest Mexican actors is certainly making his mark here in the United States.
Eugenio Derbez has moved to the United States a few years ago to establish himself in the English language films. With the surprise success of 2013’s Instructions Not Included, he has gone on to be in films like The Book of Life, Miracles from Heaven and Netflix’s Sandy Wexler.
