It's sad to see one of your favourite shows die. This has gone from being one of the best shows on TV to being a shadow of its former self. It used to be beautifully written and was biting in its criticism of U. S politics. The clever introduction of occasional cartoon style songs was a feature.
It has lost some wonderful cast members, Rose Leslie and Cush Jumbo amongst them.
The show managed to maintain a very high standard through to the end of season 4. Season 5 is appalling. The entire story line is amateurish, unfunny and tedious. I feel for the cast having to work with the scripts they've been given.
I don't know whether they've changed the writers or they decided they'd hand Season 5 over to a computer so it could be written by AI. I've kept watching through loyalty to the show in the desperate hope things would get better but as the great Peter Finch once said, "I'm as Mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more.". I lasted to episode 8, season 5. I really can't take any more.
Maybe they'll have a series 6 Dallas style where season 5 has all been a dream. Should I say nightmare.
Seasons 1-4 deserve a 9/10. Season 5 I'd give a 1/10.
It's a tragedy when a great show dies.

Love the show, but I hate the cartoon shorts. It totally interrupts the flow of the show. Otherwise great actors, great show.
It was a pleasant surprise to see a spin off of The Good Wife. In general, (in my opinion) I find them to be lackluster and solely rely on one character from the original series.
The Good Fight is a breath of fresh air, bringing in the supporting cast of the original in the 1st episode with cameo appearances from actors that had minor recurring roles in The Good wife. IE - Hon Judge Abernathy aka Russel Edgington from True Blood in the 2nd episode.
While I admit it seems a little odd not to have the great Julianna Margulies in the follow up series, the use of profanity caught me off guard coming from The Women's Network, which is where I watched the episodes. I will say it did encourage me to watch it further, as to my recollection, beefing up the language and not bleeping it out, has never been done before.
All in all, I think it has the potential to last as long as The Good Wife, It surely has a strong female cast, all heroines in their own right, which I would expect nothing less from the network I saw it on.
Looking forward to the next episode.

Edgy, intelligent, relatable, thoroughly entertaining. 2 episodes in and eagerly awaiting the 3rd.
Each character brings their own to the atmosphere of diversity yet familiarity from the parent show, The Good Wife.
Unlike most spin-offs, The Good Fight has retained the drama yet upped the ante with cheekier scripting and surprise casting.
A welcome addition to this seasons rather blah line-up of other situation dramas.

Many times I've thought that this one of the best programs on TV. It is has great acting, clever witty dialog and great stories. Like its predecessor, The Good Wife, many of the storylines are enticing food for thought.
The only critique I have is that the show can get overly political. At some point, it stops being compelling story telling and sounds like a rant. It may be a rant I agree with but ... it's just not fun to watch. It feels like I'm re-living yesterday's news instead of breaking new ground.
The writers can be brilliant so I hope they get some a fresh ideas for the next season. Let's get some new unpredictable storylines and interesting cases ... it'll be great for the show.

Up front I will state that I am a big fan of The Good Wife and Julianna Margulies and took a while to get over it ending, very much like when any good TV show ends.
I waited until I had almost all of the episodes of this series before I talked my partner into watching it.
After the first episode I didn't have to talk her into any further episodes, we binge watched the whole season in one weekend.
Wow is the one word I would use to describe this show.
So many good actors and characters who are just make for a really great show IMHO.
Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart, Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn, Rose Leslie as Maia Rindell and Delroy Lindo as Adrian Boseman just a few of the characters I just love and they put in stellar performances.
Add Carrie Preston as the wacky and sublime Elsbeth Tascioni and you have a huge hit in my eyes.
If you haven't seen it yet, get a copy and enjoy.

I watched this show out of curiosity as someone taking a law class right now and actually found it pretty interesting. I always liked the character of Diane on The Good Wife and it's neat to see a very different type of law firm than the one on the Good Wife-- I'm honestly more invested in the success of the firm.
In a way, this reminds me of The West Wing. It's that same kind of fast paced, jargon-y, liberal comfort food. Rose Leslie's bad American accent is really distracting and I'm not all that into some of the random story lines but it's a great show to lean back and relax with on a Sunday night.
CBS has produced a very well-made drama that isn't necessarily groundbreaking but uses previous formulas and tropes in a captivating way.

What a great show! You never know what to expect next. So refreshing from some of the current shows airing on TV. Just love this one. I can't wait for the next show to air. Keep up the great work. Wonderful! For such a long time there was nothing to watch on TV. This show finally came to our homes with such intrigue! A very long time coming but well worth the wait. The cast is Great! What more can be said!

If you'd asked me about this show through Seasons 1 & 2, I would have said one of the best on TV., really a treat. Season 3 appears to have gone off the rails, at least to some degree.
You still have some great actors, and some truly excellent writing. The problem comes with some new slapstick approach they've tried to add to the story lines that completely detracts from the import and seriousness of some of the topics the writers are tackling. And so, in E05 this season, you have a plot line that involves alt-right Nazi types who riot at a polling place, mixed with a cartoon segment that was about 'I don't know what', because I went away from the TV shortly after it began. Why? What does it possibly add to the story line?
I've noticed similar detours from story lines throughout this season. It's as if the writers lost faith in the import of their message and felt some odd desire to add comedy to the mix. The Blum character is so over the top I feel as if I'm watching two different shows all at once.
I hope they get back on the mark. This was a great show. Would be nice to have it back again.

The Good Fight is one of the few spin off shows that manages to outdo its predecessor. At its fundamental core, it's a legal drama, but that's almost secondary to what's really going on: a commentary on the absolute insanity that this world is becoming. No topic seems to be off the table for TGF, and the show's creators are intelligent in presenting all this controversial content in a very tongue-in-cheek way that challenges us to try and see the madness.
Contrary to popular belief, The Good Fight seems to take as many pot shots at the Left as they do the Right, though they are subtler and more satirical in their portrayal of the Left and more obvious for the Right. The show does follow characters who are left wing, but in doing so, it shows that neither side are completely saints or sinners.
The wit and humour is superb, a show that just as easily masters comedy as it does high drama. It's tackling real issues brazenly and boldly but in a way that merely observes the crazy phenomena rather than push any agenda.
This is a brilliant commentary on current affairs.

I agree that season three is weird. Who is writing this stuff? Such a shame that a good series has decided to take a weird route. Season one was good. Season two was a tad political although Trump provides a mine of gems to be used by writers. The lead is missing. Diane has gone quite strange. Normal is hard to find in the writing and like most people sorry that it has changed so much from series one. Luca is still good thankfully. The acting is fine but the storylines have taken a detour into crazy!

I loved this series up top season 5.
Definitely needs a change in the writing team...could have done better than copy and paste real life events. Seem like they've run out of ideas after Trump. And those fake courts. What a waste of time.
I like the cast though.

This series proves that you don't need great special effects to make a great drama show and it's one of the best out there. It also includes relevant social commentaries within its stories with great acting and excellent background music with each important scenes. The directors, writers and actors should be proud of what they accomplished and we the viewers are blessed that such a show exists.
This is nothing less than perfection. I put it up there in the same league as with walking dead, game of thrones and westworld. It may not have the same special effects but the stories, character development and drama is on the same level if not more.
If you like dramas at all, watch this series!

I liked The Good Wife, but at time The Good Wife could be predictable. The Good Fight however is a lot edgier and I must give it Two Thumbs Up for integrating the Black Community with the corporate World. Christine Baranski is at her best and I have always been a fan of Delroy Lindo. It is also wonderful to see supporting staff from The Good Wife on The Good Fight. The Good Fight is well written and well acted.

One of my Top series.
I saw The good fight in the IMDB recommendation and Voilá, the taste is good.
There are good dramas, the human character is well represented (real things), clever jokes, political issues ... well dosed. When I find a new episode, I smile.
Long life for the good fight.

Take the ingredients that made "The Good Wife" a great watch (wonderful acting, great scripts, photography...), add a touch of extra female pow(d)er, shake it up, evaporate the dryness censorship can cause, and you've unleashed a delicious soufflé that just keeps rising (just had a wonderful dinner).
With a mic showing in one of the first scenes of the first season, I was worried, unnecessarily so as everything turned out exquisite, each episode a treat leaving one craving the next serving. Hope I got you hungry enough to go on a binge if you haven't seen it yet.
"The Good Fight" is the one recipe that calls for endless seasoning.
Every one star review says the same thing, people are mad this show is political?? It is a show set in present day America about a law firm. Of course its political. Absolutely loved the first two seasons and yes, S3 is a
way different. But I think it's fun and fresh. It still keeps me guessing episode to episode, which no other show really does anymore. It takes guts to be this blatant. The writing is original, the acting is stellar and this show continues to be brave. I love it.
The good fight is the only show I have EVER seen tackle issues that Black people face in an accurate and nuanced way. The characters are as 3D as you could want. The acting is sublime, the storytelling is crisp and delivered professionally. I love this show. It discusses politics brilliantly, satirises Trump and destroys him in all the ways he rightfully deserves. Love the WOC representation, keep it running!
There was something missing in my life and when this show came out I knew what it was...the good wife...after years of being so loyal to the show i was so let down when it ended...(and I have to point out it didn't end how I thought it should or could have)
Then BAM the good fight arrives and yes it sure is...the show gives a great fight as a spin off...probably one of the best yet.
It's early days yet but if it keeps up with the amazing dialogue then we have a winner people.
Love the original characters and very keen to see how the new ones develop.

I like this show, it is fast paced, funny and very different from the good wife, but yet it has everything I loved from the original show.
Strong female leads and interesting topics. I used to dislike Lucca, but she has definitely grown on me this past season.
I love me some chumhum

I really loved the first 2 seasons. But I stopped watching after 3x01.
I absolutely hate the little short clips. They're cringy!
Won't be watching anymore.

Season 1 was great. Season 2 went political. I'm not a Trump supporter but this was too much. Season 3 is dismal. The political crap and the flowing profanity has brought this series to a new low. Episode 2 sealed it. I won't be watching anymore. That's kind of sad because it was the reason I signed up for CBS Access.
