There is a theme of love of children and step children by a father and also making a better life that sets this apart from other K dramas and quite a lot of story that keeps things moving along. Like other early 2000s dramas there is too much crying and overacting by today's standards that could have been out. The first part with the main character the gangster starting a better life is pretty good. The second part with the step sibling love is unconvincing. Who would love that morose girl? Some parts are quite funny. It's a chance to see early roles of famous stars like Go Soo and Jo In Sung who gets to show off his melodramatic acting skills.
Dated but partly entertaining.
