"It's pretty rare, or near impossible, that any of us get a second chance at - well - anything really. So what would you do if you were offered one, also knowing now that there are only two outcomes - both not ideal. Or rather, what if you were offered a second chance to not make the decision that got you here in the first place? This subject is tackled by the new short film from Willy Adkins, directed by Wolf McKinney - and tackled very well, I must say. The film opens with a continuous shot as we follow our hero (North Roberts) on an extended walk, reminiscent of influence from films like "Goodfellas", "Birdman", "The Revenant". When average Joe is picked up by the menacing henchman (Raymond Sofia), or muscle if you will, to be escorted to meet his maker, a series of comedic and real tension ensues. Very well played by the actors; Ultimately, we see the genuine fear of our hero about to meet his maker. Once the meeting takes place, the film really takes off. With an eerie calm mixed with a subtle yet intimidating performance, Chad Foor brings a quiet sense of urgency into an impossible choice situation. The breakdown and pleading that ensues from actor North Roberts is yet another powerful and moving performance from one of the most memorable actors in Illinois - and I'm not just saying this because he is a dear friend and an actor I've had the pleasure of working with many times. He kills it, just like he always does. Find a way to watch this short film, that certainly makes an impression and inspires. Congrats to Wolf McKinney, Willy Adkins, writer Kevin Bui and all cast and crew - you should all be proud." - Michael Schmid, 4Lizard Productions
