Bill Maher eventually got to the “big news this week” on the latest episode of HBO’s Real Time — Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris.
The host appeared amazed at the pop superstar’s influence on the 2024 presidential election, as it was previously reported that her endorsement drove more than 400,000 people to Vote.gov, a voter registration resource that refers people to their local state election websites.
“Taylor Swift finally told people who to vote for,” Maher said. “Of course, immediately the response from the other side was, ‘Celebrity endorsements don’t matter.’ People are always so behind on these things, you know. That’s the conventional wisdom for a long time, many celebrity endorsements don’t work… not in this case — I mean, just the number of people who were immediately registered from that tweet.”
The comedian continued, “And I’m sorry, but we live in Starfucker, America.

Finneas is trapped in an endless cycle of love and hurt in the music video for his new single “For Cryin’ Out Loud.” As the musician interrogates some particularly anxious attachment styles on the song, he falls down an elevator shaft, gets stuck with a knife, gets hit by a car, and continues to find himself in the most unfortunate of circumstances in the video.
In the visual, written and directed by Isaac Ravishankara, Finneas’ cycle of misfortunes always begins with him being hurt after he leaves the woman he...

“I was thinking about different Halloween songs I could cover and this one popped into my head,” she said in a press release of the Spotify Single. “It’s one of my favorite pop songs of all time, and nothing will beat the original but I wanted to give it a...

Slayyyter is sitting on a couch in Room 49 of the historic Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood. She’s bare-faced, barefoot, and sporting a silky, off-white nightgown as she takes sips of her iced coffee. “I feel like if you die here, you’re immortalized in Hollywood culture,” she muses. Last night’s empty bottles of Dom Pérignon and a half-eaten cake sit on the kitchen counter. It’s the morning of her 27th birthday.

Slayyyter is in this in-between phase of her career: Sometimes people don’t have a clue who she is, but other times fans are begging for a picture.
“It’s a funny place to be,” she tells Rolling Stone with a laugh. “I’m still myself, but I get to dip my toe into this very bizarre culture of Hollywood.”
Her experience of being a rising pop star and living amidst the craziness of Hollywood serves as the inspiration for her album Starfucker, out Sept. 22, which she announced on Thursday.
