Why somebody would make a movie like this one is a mystery to me. The story has been done many times before so if you're not going to make a much better version why bother? The whole story is full of cringing bad decision making, as well from the 'good' ones as from the 'villains'. The action scenes are just ridiculous and look really amateuristic, but the worst part is the acting, that's just beyond bad. Why did I watch this? I should have rewatched Deliverance (1972) instead, that's basically the same story but there you had a class movie instead of this waste of money, energy and time.

This movie is terrible. The dialogue is garbage, the camera work is bad, and the actors are awful. Domink is the worst. His expression does not change once during the entire movie. The plot sounds like it could be interesting, but the movie is horrible. Please go watch something else.
The first sentence manages is a single word: Fxxx. The dialogue goes rapidly downhill from there.
The acting isn't even wooden, it's SAPlingl There are many much better city folk survive against crazy forest folk / killers, don't waste you time o this one - after about 20 minutes I decided not to waste mine.

This movie is total crap, actors and film crew should be ashamed. Worse than passing a kidney stone or digging your eyes out with a rusty fork. For your own good stay away from this stinker.

Extremely bad actors! How is it possible to find such bad actors?
Most of the story is okay, but it completely falls apart by the actors...
And then it just ends! Without any explanation.... I cant say what explanation is missing because that would be a spoiler.
But trust me, there is something very important missing.

I didnt expect much of this film, and when reading the plot i thought,''oh, just another lost in the wood fighting for your life''-flick. but it is surprisingly good. the 2 main male actors are doing a decent job, and delivers a believable acting. it had tension from 15 minutes till the end, the start though was a cliche.
there are some flashbacks in the story that may drew attention for the one looking for inconsistensies in the plot, but the actors and production team has been good at erasing glitches,or simply been good filmmakers. there are near to none illogical moves in the story, except the fact that swimming with the river flow, can make a marvelous speed, and i would have fled that way.
wanna have a little tension,do watch this, low budgeted but very well acted movie ''boyne falls'', the grumpy old man says

Possibly one of the worst films I've seen in 70 years of watching movies.
It seems to be a family and friends production, possibly even including the people giving high scoring reviews. It would be interesting to see what the person who gave this travesty 10/10 would give if they were watching classic films by some of the worlds greatest directors. After 10 there's really nowhere left to go.
Anyway the above average ratings certainly worked because it sucked me in.
The film was often puzzling as well, because even though they were supposedly deep in the wilderness I kept recognising the same trees, who's acting by the way was a lot less wooden than the cast.

Boyne Falls is one of those hidden gems. You are just browsing movies and come across it and give it a shot. My expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised. The chemistry between the two bros was so good. You root hard for them to be best bros again. While also hoping they don't die. Their intimate struggle to rekindle their friendship and feelings for each other will pull at your heart strings. You can also relate to the villains and their desperate attempt to just keep their drug operation safe. They could have went about it better in hind sight. But they only wanted what was best for their business. The female mob boss reminds me of a feminine Scarface. Bad to the bone! Gripping suspense throughout, non stop action and I will definitely be watching this again at least four more times!

How do these horribly acted and written movies score so high? It's like you can't trust these former "trusted" sites from saving you from a couple agonizing hours anymore.

Everyone's drunk at a family reunion when Timmy mentions he read about a guy who won a genuine movie camera on eBay. Sally says she's always wanted to be in a movie. Bobby Sue and Carl think she'd be a perfect leading bad guy. Everyone else chimes in. If only they had a script. Wait a minute. Aunt Clara wrote a Sunday School presentation. Who wants to be the director?
Next thing you know, you're watching it. It's called Boyne Falls.
One star for the scenery. One star for the main bad gal's radio message where she uses the f bomb five times in ten words. One star for it mercifully ending after only 84 minutes. Three stars.

I am offended that they would even portray our little area in this way. It is appalling. I haven't even seen the movie, just read the comments. So many things are wrong with this movie already. Please just can we go back in time where this movie didn't exist? I love in Boyne Falls and there isn't as much meth going around as there is in Mancelona, which everyone refers to as "Methalona". If you want to come to Boyne Falls, I suggest you visit the beautiful Boyne Mountain, or even go to Petoskey or Charlevoix and see what there is to offer in your taste. Please don't stereotype all Boyne Fallsians as meth makers/dealers, we all aren't.

A movie about some young city guys who venture into the woods and encounter some scary creeps. I know, you've seen it all before.....many, many times. True, but you haven't (I assume) seen it visualized like BOYNE FALLS. Just when you think you know what's going to happen next .... it doesn't.
Worth (subjective I know) seeing how some independent filmmakers can take an overly done concept and turn it into something original. Sort of like what CABIN IN THE WOODS did (without a multi mil budget).

Not your typical big budget, people get lost in the woods and bad things happen movie. nope, not at all. the the main actors were great, the others in the movie were ok for their parts.
the movie it self seemed to be well thought out and planned properly. the story with a few flash backs to help stitch loose seams, is really good. something you dont see much anymore..... its original on its own.
just watch it, the tine spent is not regrettable (like a lot of movies today).

When you get right down to it, Boyne Falls is a fun movie that's engaging on more than one level. Eddie plans a camping trip to help sort out his future with his friend and business partner Dominik. Their story plays out through well-paced flashbacks of their past woven into the backdrop of a 'wrong place, wrong time' crisis they've mistakenly fallen into.
What I really enjoy about the movie is the realistic internal conflict that Eddie is working through set against the hyper-real external conflict of the crisis and how it helps both Eddie and Dominik dig down and find what's important.
Great movie to watch when you have a little downtime.

So, when you decide to watch a low budget indie movie, you never quite know what you're going to get. Usually, there are some sound issues or the story is flat or it's shot in an apartment with two talking heads.
In this case, none of the above applies. it was so wonderful to experience a really well constructed and beautifully shot film that grabbed hold from the beginning and never lets go. The director understands that pacing is everything and the film feels expansive. I highly recommend this movie , especially if you want to experience a feature that doesn't rely on sfx and gimmicks to keep you entertained but instead focuses on a compelling storyline and performances.
